View Full Version : What's your favorite play in football

This went horribly, horribly wrong, my apologies, but I'll try and reconstruct it.

If you could only see one play in all of football, what would it be? Me personally, I love seeing a good running play where about 5 people are made Larry's Biiatch. Even 2 years ago, when Priest was still the man by far, I always said I liked to watch Larry run more, cause of his style.

What would it be for you? A deep seam route to a diving catch? A total destruction of a QB by an OLB? Seeing a RB cough it up? A pick for a TD? The elusive safety?

PLEASE don't?

I went to post a poll, and forgot to check the box, and it was all downhill from there.

From that point my car blew up, my right foot fell off, my dog died...it was bad. :)

Kick off return for a touchdown. OR a punt return for a TD will suffice.

KC vs SD - Vanover all the way on kickoff return or maybe it was a punt. Great play.

I love a good screen or sweep. Something that gets all the hogs out there blocking downfield, blowing up LBs and safeties.

There's nothing better than seeing a RB behind that moving wall of linemen, TE, and FB.

My favorite play is one of these two, but I can't decide:

1. The quarterback goes back and someone completely missed a blitzer from his blind side, preferably a linebacker. WHAMMO! Fumble, scramble fight for the ball, all while the quarterback is lying in a fetal position with, to quote Lawrence Taylor, a snot bubble coming out of his nose.

2. A vicious blind-side block where the defender never saw it coming and both the blocker and defender are running at full speed. WHAMMO! The blocker gets back up and keeps running, while the defender is left in a fetal position on the field.

It may actually be Play #2 that's my favorite. I really like violence.

My favorite has to be the Fullback Belly.

It's the one where the ball is handed to the Fullback and he rams his helmet up the centers butt for no gain or .9 yards.

It's that similar to the 65 Power Toss Trap, only that you quickly perfom cunnilingus before you matriculate the ball down the field?

blind side, bone crushing sack, strip, recovery for a td by blitzing linebacker. (especially when it is a Chief's defender doing it.)

If I could choose choose one play to see, I would have Trent throw a high lob into the end zone and see Tony G outjump everyone for an amazing TD. IMO, we didn't utilize Tony G enough in the red zone last year. Even though teams know its coming, he can still win most matchups in the red zone if the ball is thrown in his vicinity.

Interception returned for long TD. Preferably with a long of shenanigans along the way.

It was my favorite on Tecmo Bowl too. Sometimes I'd play entire seasons whe I just played on D and punted every time that I got the ball and tried to outscore the other team only on INT, KO, and PUNT returns.

and one of our linebackers ****ing annihilates him. It has only happened in a dream once, but Im sure it would be my favorite play, ever.

I think I really like a well execute half back screen. I loved seeing Priest run down a sideline with a huddle of linemen around him.

I also love a good toss sweep. Those were TD, take it to the house GOLD when LJ was at Penn State.

Moooo, Nice question. I'd have to go with Pump fake draw hand off up the middle when proper blocking its almost not fair.

Quite possibly true. I read a book once where Madden was quoted as saying he attended a lecture given by the legend himself, Vince Lombardi. Lombardi lectured for almost 6 hours on....the sweep. I couldn't find enough material for a 3 damn minute lecture, but that's one of the reasons the trophy is named for Vince.
