Is Valuev the next great heavyweight fighter? He improved his record to 44-0 with over 30 KO's after last nights fight. The competition he has faced, is very limited.

I was wondering what everyone else thinks of this boxer. He's over 7'0 tall, and weighs in around 320 pounds.

Over 7'0? Jeez!

His record is padded with a lot of tomato cans from early in his career.

I think he's currently the WBA #1, but that Ruiz decision was a little shaky, and he didn't impress me. I think he's probably a little better than the usual freakshow boxers of that size, but his success has as much to do with a pathetic heavyweight division as anything else.

I'd like to see him face Wlad Klitschko. My guess is Klitschko would destroy him.

Heavyweight boxing sucks right now. it's full of nobodys that promoters still expect PPV money for. If quality boxing doesn't get back on cable/network TV, that sport is going to die.

I wouldn't mind boxing dying as long as ufc got bigger

Ultimate Fighting is going to take over. That shit is crazy. Not that I'd ever do it, but those guys got balls of steel.

If they could remove the Don Kings from Boxing and just let talent decide its fate, I think it would boom in popularity; at least the heavy's would

Here he is taking an uppercut. But then, aren't they all uppercuts?

He reminds me of the guy from Street Fighter... I don't remember his name... And do they not have weight classes where this guy boxes, cause there's no way that other guy is a heavyweight. Looks to be middle or so.

He has to be slower than crap. I bet he's easy to parry, but that doesn't take away from the ONE that does land.

These kind of guys usually run into problems when they run into other boxers who can go 12 with them. They almost never win without the KO.

MooooFor his size, he's relatively nimble. Certainly more so than past 7' boxers. He's not really a bomber, just uses his range to jab the hell out of you.

He went 12 with John Ruiz not that long ago and won a questionable decision.

HBO has some good bouts coming up in the next 5-6 weeks...

I've seen him fight a handful of times, and Valuev needs a lot of work to even think of contending with any top heavyweight. He's terrible defensively, and even worse, he has mediocre power.

His undefeated record comes after fighting bums and getting ridiculous decisions in his favor. One fight, he struggled against a has been in Ruiz, and a never was in Larry Donald.

After his last fight, he said something about "dominating America," and that simply won't happen. Anyone with power will put him to sleep, and a top heavyweight will kill him.

Good to get opinions of the guy. Looking at his past opponents, it does look like a bunch of cupcakes. However, I don't think you can ever count out a guy with his size. I watched Valuev against Ruiz. I was pretty surprised at how nimble Valuev is, and he seemed to hurt Ruiz, who has always been a bruiser.

Good to know there is a little bit of hope in the heavyweight division.

how old is this guy? 44-0 makes it seem like the guy has been around for a while like hes in his 30s already
