Okay, so I bought this the other day. and...wow. This is by far the best album I've ever heard.

I'm a huge Nine Inch Nails fan, so I instantly bumped it to "Hurt." He has by far exceeded Reznor's version of the song (even though it is his song). Don't get me wrong, I love the old version (Downward Spiral is probably my second favorite album, even though "Hurt" isn't on my top five favorite songs on there), it's just that good of a rendition by Johnny. As comical as it sounds, a lot of respect came from the movie, "Walk the line." After seeing that movie, along with the interviews of him and June Carter, I knew his love for her was as true as they come. And you can hear it in these lyrics, even though he didn't write them.

Whenever you hear him sing, its like it pierces past your ears, through your brain and straight to your heart. I don't even know if he meant to do it, but his old, frail voice is nothing short of perfect. Every time I hear it, I get goosebumps, even if I listen to it more than once in a row.

Anyone else have any opinions on this album?

Cash is the pillar of American music. As much respect as he gets, it will never be enough. I'm a huge Soundgarden fan, and like Moooo, I believe Cash outdid the original, "Rusty Cage". His stuff he did on American with Rick Rubin is so freakin phenominal.

John Cash would bow to the greatness that is HIRAM KING WILLIAMS.

He is the Alpha and Omega of country anything.

I listen to Cash daily and think he is the greatest. Plus I really dislike NIN, but ( and I will more than likely get slammed for this) I like Reznors version of Hurt better.

Cash's Hurt was as good as TR's version. The same goes with Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. Rusty Cage has taken some time, but I have been able to get used to it.
