This is mine:

high and tight - a standard cut in the United States Marine Corps, a high and tight comprises cut to a stubble at the back and sides (using clippers with no guard comb attached) and short (around 1/4 inch) all over on top. Alternatively, the top may be cut into a short flattop. The back and sides may also be clean shaved using lather and a razor.

I've decided to go with shaving the top and leaving a little fringe around the side, but just for flair, I've left a little island of hair kind of in the middle of the top of my head, so it looks like a coda sign from the top.

I'm kind of a trend-setter, so I'll bet many of you will adopt this style over the next twenty years.

Businessman's cut, but shorter.

I have a load of thick gray hair, so I like to keep it short.

Gel spike in the front. Short on sides/back. I still to comply w/ Air Force cut :-(

shaved - the hair is cut completely to the sking using a razor (either some form of blade razor or an electric razor). This should not be confused with hair that is cut using clippers. A crewcut or a buzzcut is not shaved. Too many people tell their barbers that they want part or all of their head shaved, when they actually want a tapered cut or some other clipper cut.

Funny this thread is here... I had a barber I used for a long time in Manila ... did a terrific job, but he went to another shop and I had trouble finding another one that I liked. I had trouble getting them to understand the style of cut that I wanted ... to say, "just trim a little off" means you will only have a little left when they finish. I thougth it was my inabiltiy to speak the correct Filipino. But, it seems to be a problem here as well. With all our moving I'd gone a couple months over getting it cut. Since I'm new in town I just looked in the phone book and went to a shop yesterday. There were 3 young African American guys cutting hair. I thought it would be rude to walk out and and after all it is only a hair cut ... they ought to be able to cut any hair... anyway hair will grow right back out, correct? WRONG!!!! I can't describe the cut ... it is very short and a very bad hair cut. On the bright side ... it will grow and I don't have to spend money on a hair cut until the season begins.

I get a business cut, then let it grow for 2-3 months until it looks like I really need a haircut, then reapeat.

Not sure how to describe it, other than to say there's definitely some hair on my head. I cut it myself, with a cheap beard trimmer. And I can't cut it too short, 'cause I'm a knothead.

BTW, I love it when threads such as this are on the front page, so the average hardcore fan can look at CP and say, "WTF?"

buzzcut - a short cut (like the butch cut described above). The name comes from the sound of the electric clippers used for the cut. A buzzcut may typically range from 1/4 of an inch down to stubble (that is cut without a guard on the clippers).

#1 all over. Getting thinner by the day. Pretty soon I am going to take the Mach 3 to it.
