I was wondering if any planet members have had an IDET procedure performed?

I just had my surgery yesterday and my pain level in increased (expected that much).

My question is has anyone's doctor recommended or not recommended avoiding getting into a pool? Obviously, it would be stupid to try to swim laps, but I wondered if being in the water would help relieve some of the pressure and possible pain in my back. I was under some good drugs after my surgery and did not ask my doctor about whether my pool would be a theraputic option.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure if swimming would be safe or not. According to this site, it's normal for the pain to increase the first couple days.

I didn't have the IDET. I wasn't a candidate since I have pretty severe degenerative disc disease, I had a microdiscectomy/laminectomy and then an anterior lumbar fusion 6 months later. I wish you a lot of luck with this procedure, I really hope it helps to eliminate your pain. Back pain can really suck the life out of you. I don't think I will ever be completely pain free ever again.
