Probably the jewel of my DVD collection. I watch them a lot. If you are a WWII buff, specifically the European campaign post D-Day as I am, you'll really love them.

Ross from Friends is really f*ckin me up so far as a platoon leader. (I have no knowledge of military ranks and names, cane me now.)

Excellent series.

I had a great uncle who went in on D-Day and was also involved in the Battle of the Buldge etc.

He passed away last December and at the funeral we discovered that he was decorated 1st Sergeant. In fact, he was one of the first members of the service to be sent home under the "points" system mentioned in the last episode of BoB series.

None of us knew this beforehand, because he rarely spoke of his time in WWII or of the war in general.

I've re-watched the series recently and I thought of him many times.
