Awesome interview on tv today with one of the Sudanese Lost Boys.

He spoke of the fact the freedom is not free and that, from his perspective, most Americans are unaware of the benefits of living in the US.

He's a boy who lost his brother during the journey to Muslim militia from the North and has not spoken to nor has he seen his family in 6 years. They are likely also dead.

I remember when we picked up some Lost Boys at the airport and brought them to our home, one of the boys stood at the window looking out at the back yard. As I stood next to him, he spoke in a soft voice saying, "Even the trees are cared for here."

When we took them to the supermarket for the first time, they all had what can only be described as panic attacks. They had simply not seen so much food in their lives and were emotionally overwhelmed. We had to get them out of the store as a result of their increasing discomfort.

I hope and trust that all of you will have a glorious, enjoyable and safe 4th.

You live out south right? When I lived out off of golden a few years ago, the 4th was the one day of the year that NONE of our neighbors cared how loud we were. Every year we would be up until 2 or 3 shooting off fireworks. It was a blast.

Not yet but if these little ****ers don't stop with the artillery shells soon, I'm going to stuff an M-80 down someones shorts. That should qualify for a blown up body part(s).

It's been quite here in C'ville for awhile now. Although on the way home from work a passing car threw a lit roman candle out of their window just before going by and I had to stop the car while the thing shot it's rounds off accrossed the highway.
