Ok folks, the search has been narrowed down and we now have what I hope will be 12 interested and committed owners.

The next stage for us to complete is the DRAFT ORDER.

To do this, I'm going to use the (Monday evening) OHIO (pick 3) LOTTERY NUMBER. This is a 3-digit number (example: last Monday evening was 7.0.0).

All franchise owners need to message me their choice of numbers, anywhere from 000 to 999. I will then forward all choices to a trustworthy independent person here at ChiefsPlanet who can validate all information for the sake of fairness.

The order will be determined by WHO IS THE CLOSEST. For example, if person A says 250, person B says 750, and the number is 400, person A gets the 1st choice and person B gets the second choice.

Make sure your numbers are messaged to me by early evening on Monday at the latest - DON'T post your numbers in this thread.

Thank you.

Thanks.

P.S. lbj4mvp = Florida Force

I know one of those is owned by DaKCMan AP -- but which one? :hmmm:

Edit: I'm pretty sure you've got the LVC, right Alan?

The draft order is tonight, and the results will be made clear tommorow for those who can't check the Ohio lotto. From then, I believe you can pre-rank your players in the event that you can't make the Live draft (which will be determined this week).

What the hell is lotto #'s?
You're making this way too difficult.
Either let espn rank the order or pull teams from a hat. (we trust you).

It's not that complicated.

One 3 digit lotto # decides the draft order by how close the # you pick is to it.

You can probably even check the # online tonight.

CupidStunt

Yeah, you can check it. Pretty simple really.

http://www.ohiolottery.com/

We're using the PICK 3 evening draw. If anyone wants, they can check to see how close they were.

htismaqe is our independant number checker and, if he beats me to it, can go ahead and post the results if he so chooses.

Remember, it's the closest to the actual number. Doesn't matter if you're 20 over or 20 under.

Closest gets #1 overall pick, furthest off gets the #12 pick. Everyone else slots inbetween.

Myself? I'm hoping for the #4 pick. Whoever's left out of Portis, Alexander, LT and LJ.

BTW, only a few more owners left to pick their numbers, thanks to rad and wutamess.

CupidStunt

FWIW, there's no Sunday draw, but Saturday's evening pick 3 draw was 494. Say someone had 495, they're probably going to get the first pick. Whoever was furthest away (say 999) gets the #12 pick. Inbetween, everyone slots in order of accuracy.

Please feel free to now change your team CITY, NAME and LOGO.

You can do so by following http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/tools/editteamname?leagueId=33000&teamId= and adding on the NUMBER of your team at the end.

1 FLF Florida Force
2 NYH New York Hurricanes
3 BOC Boston Crusaders
4 VIB Virginia Bulls

5 KAS Kansas Stormers
6 DED Denver Dragons
7 SD Sac Deep
8 KCP Kansas City Penny Stocks

9 LVC Las Vegas Comets
10 PHS Phoenix Stars
11 SEC Seattle Chiefs
12 SAR Sacramento Redwoods

One thing to ensure you do: change the abbreviation. 3 letters = first two letters of city name, first letter of team name.

E.g. Florida Force = FLF. Kansas Storms = KAS. A couple owners have already done this successfully. But pick a name that you'll stick with, because changing will cause nothing but confusion.

We need to decide on an appropriate DRAFT DATE. Everyone should name their date and time in this thread so we can gauge the best day and time to use.

Although not as important, I would prefer not to draft on a Friday or Saturday night :D

Just to add my 2 cents on that matter - weeknights are good for me, 5-7PM preferably, and in late August.

As a ballpark day/time: Tuesday August 29, 6pm ET.

I keep getting a message from ESPN's site saying that an error occured when trying to process my log in. I'm not able to update my team info right now, but that's fine. I'll just stick with the Virginia Bulls. Have we decided on how the draft will be run?

I already have a draft on Saturday August 26th at 9pm. I would prefer to draft on Saturday or Sunday as I work third shift Mon-Fri nights.

What ever the league decides is fine with me. Just know that I won't be available on 8/26 after 9pm. I never ever try to do two drafts at the same time and I am the commish of that league.

I used the first 3 digits of my zipcode.

Who would have thought 666 would be to my benefit. ROFL

Will be interesting to see where the final draft order stands.

I need one league member to answer a question for me -- which of the following works best:

(1) In order of how close you picked, people get to CHOOSE their draft pick. Closest has first choice (may take any pick), furthest gets whatever is left.

OR

(2) Closest gets #1 pick, furthest gets #12 pick.

Thoughts? I don't mind either way. Just that whoever was closest might not want the #1 pick.

Ok. That's fine. Makes more sense - I just hope that all league owners will be able to make their choices quickly and easily.

I'll start a new thread for it.
