He is in the field too. Well last night he had the error. Before last night though, he had only committed 1 error in his previous 28 games. That is outstanding for a third baseman.

What the hell lit the spark under Teahen's ass? That kid is playing the best baseball at the plate ive seen in a while from a Royals player. He's smahing the shit outta the ball, i hope to god its not just a little fluke right now.

I think his defense will come around just fine, thats the thing they looked at when getting teahen, his exceptional defense. He's made some prety damned good plays, but made some stupid ass plays like last night, Im not worried about it, I know he'll come around on defense.

Yeah, but it seems like everybody remembers the handful of bad plays. Nobody seems to remember all the great plays he makes. I don't know why. Really he's still young and hasn't committed an absurd number of errors compared to other young third basemen. His big problem seems to be the occassional throw, you'd think that's something he can fix, not just random mental lapses like Berroa. If he can't, I guess we can just slide him across to first. Although Gordon will probably have to go through the same kinda learning period. Even guys like Rolen and Randa committed a lot of errors early in their career.

I am not saying he sucks. Just saying his offense is a lot better than his defense right now. I like his arm. He just makes too many dumb errors..the first error last night I say shit happens...2nd error was a dumb ass throw

The reason people seem to remember his E's is because his bat was so bad.
If he'd been hitting BB's all over the place like he has for the last 3 weeks, nobody would remember the occasional errant throw.

Teahen's a solid fielder, he's just young.

I don't know what happened when they sent him down, but they woke up the bat that make him a prized prospect a few years back. He keeps playing like this, and progresses even a little, he's going to make that trade look pretty good. I'm already starting to forget about Randa.

This logjam at 3rd base is going to get interesting next year, though...

so Berroa will be the homerun hitter tonight to commit the error that will cost us the game

how old is emile brown?

he isn't real good in the outfield .... slow and not particularly good at judging the ball.

imo we are ok at catcher, third with young developing guys.

i'm ok with grud and miek at 1st and 2nd

need to upgrade shortstop, 1 of the corner outfield positions and as much pitching as we can afford.

trade Redman,Sanders and sweeney(if he ever gets on the field :shake: )

Brown is 32. I agree, he's a liability in the field, but he's the type of guy who plays on a team like this.

Really with the position players, we need shortstop first IMO. Somewhere between 1B, 3B, LF, RF we need to find some power. You can shuffle up Gordon, Butler, Huber, Teahen, etc., somehow and make something there.

I like what Teahen has shown but with Gordon on the horizon, it may not be bad to swap him for a young corner outfielder with some power at some point. It seems like in recent years we've preferred to change players' positions rather than go get people who are already good at those positions. You'd hate to give up someone who we got in a trade that actually worked out, but at this time next year if Gordon is ready and Teahen's stock is still high, who knows? Maybe you make an aggressive play.

I like Macdougal getting back. I've never been a huge believer in him, but maybe he will take some pressure off Burgos. I don't think Burgos was ever ready for the majors but could get the job done if he had a chance to develop for a while. On another team, I don't think he would have seen the bigs yet and that's probably how it should have been.

Redman, I'm not sure why he's still in a Royals uniform, if I were the GM I'd all but having him pitching with a for sale sign around his neck. Glad he's been around to help our resurgence here, but business is business.

I think you ahve to start splitting his playing time with Gathright and German.

If your going to play someone who may struggle at the plate might as well play the young guys that are learnig instead of a guy who is done with baseball.

He has been such a bland hitter for this team, i hope we get something for him. Gathright needs to be playing everyday.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit; however, I have always liked Tony. He can play almost any position and always seems to play hard.

What a great game; sucks ass that we lost. Rewind this season two months ago and we weren't even in this game. Sucks we didn't get the W, but we are playing the team with the best record in the majors at their house and giving them everything they want and more. Usually by this time in the year I can't stand to watch baseball because I'm so pissed. It's exciting to watch this teams progress. Now lets get the Geriatric's like Sanders and Brown off the F'n field and let the young guys play.

Sure-Oz

This team looks like they can compete night in and night out now, vs earlier where you knew it was going to be a woopin. Leyland said we were a "9 man ambush", i def. can believe it the way we've played the last 2 months.
