I have the 4th overall pick in tonight's Chiefsplanet (3rd and 20) fantasy league.

Assuming that LJ, Alexander, and Tomlinson are gone who would you take at #4? Back up your suggestion please.

IMO, 4th is the worst spot in the draft. I'd rather be #10.

Rudi Johnson is extremely consistant. :hmmm:

The Edge is a risk.

I go Clinton Portis.

I may take Portis with the 2nd pick.

:banghead:

I wouldn't risk it.

You have to take Alexander, LT, or Larry.

Big three.

Bush is an option.

Portis is the leading candidate right now. I expect him to excel in Saunders' running schemes.

He's just not the type of player I want to bank my season on.

I wouldn't take Bush before the 4th round. I'd probably take McAllister first.

the 4th is still too early for Bush

You think 4th is bad, try 7th. I'm in the middle of every round.

I have to work tonight, but should be home in time for the draft.

Although Bush is an option, he is an unlikely option.

You should get one of the top three RB's I'm taking Marc Boerigter with the 3rd pick

the 4th is still too early for BushActually, I agree.

Besides being a rookie, he's playing on a RBBC team. I'd have to have my starting lineup set before I took him.

I have to work tonight, but should be home in time for the draft.I'd prefer 7, just because 7th, rnd 2 comes around quicker.

4th is too late for a sure stud, but early enough that he'll have to be the backbone of your team because you pick so late in round 2. I really despise this position.

Bo is still an option for me at #2. Don't get your hopes up.

Seriously don't rule out Rudi Johnson, especially with the starting QB coming off of injury, he may just tear it up this year.

He doesn't get much respect, if any, but if you look at your stats from year's past, he brings it, and pretty consistently.

Either him or Tiki Torch.

07-30-2006, 04:28 PM
What about Manning?

Hoover
07-30-2006, 04:29 PM
I think Alexander has to be the first pick. The guy puts up great numbers.

2003 16 TDs 1700 total yards
2004 20 TDs 1900 total yards
2005 28TDs 2000 total yards

jspchief

What about Manning?Conventional wisdom says the best RB in the league is more valuable than the best QB.

That being said, Manning is a fantasy stud, and he's probably been picked #1 in a lot of leagues.

LJ, Alexander, or Tomlinson. Flip a coin. They are clearly the top 3.

YOU TAKE LJ! Seriously, that away you avoid having to cheer for the performance of someone who isn't on your team!

Not only that, but you'll be able to WATCH your first pick make every yard. How many people can say that?

Yeah, Moooo... I think I'm goin' LJ. Maybe the homer in me.

07-30-2006, 04:42 PM
LJ...are you sure you want to do that. You don't want to have to worry who has the ball in their hands when the Chiefs play do you? Don't you just want to enjoy the game and not have the distractions.

Fire Me Boy!
07-30-2006, 04:47 PM
It's not like I'm playing the FFL for money, so it doesn't really "worry" me anyway. And I don't know that I could actively root for Manning -- because I ****ing HATE him. And I could give a shit about Alexander... and will I have to root for or against LT the two times we play him?

LT
Peyton

Honorable mention: Tiki

I say Rudi or Tiki

Rudi is very underrated, he's like the Trent Green of RBs.

OMG...Portis is the no-brainer at #4. Ole Al Saunders and Portis and all those great Washington receivers keeping defenses from stacking the box means a big year for Portis.

Tiki Barber. The guy has hit 2,000 total yards the last 3 (?) years. He can also return punts and kicks, iirc.

Interesting.

Strangely, Hoover may be on to something. Tomlinson is going to face a ton of eight and nine guys in the box this year, and Portis is the latest guy to benefit from Al Saunders' playcalling. Ballsy, to be sure. But maybe quite a shrewd move.

Yeah, #4 pick is tough. My board shows Portis or Tiki there. I have 9th pick and planning on signing Rudi Johnson or Manning. You may want to surprise everyone and take Manning. He's the only QB worth taking in the 1st 3 rounds.

Ok - I'll post the lineup on both threads.

QB - Brees/Warner
RB- Tiki, Dunn, Tatum Bell, Duckett
WR- Steve Smith, D. Mason, McCardell
TE - Antonio Gates
K- Tynes
Def- Da Bears/Cowboys

Feel good about Tiki at 5, Smith in 2nd round, Gates and my D. Have depth at 2nd RB with Dunn, Bell, Duckett. Need a better 3rd WR. Brees/Warner are servicable with big potential upside.
