My wife and I went to an advance screening of this movie the other night. I keep seeing great reviews for it but we were disappointed. Not by the quality of the movie or the acting, but by what it focused on.

*Spoiler alert*

If you want a nice human interest story about two guys trapped underground and what they and their families go through, see this movie. If you want to see what the people in the building went through, don't bother. If you want to see what the rescuers did, come in in the last 15 minutes. For the most part, you could substitute two guys trapped in a mine cave-in and make only minor changes to the script. If you've seen the documentary made by the French guys that day with one of the fire companies, it's much more interesting and moving.

Most of the talk about it from sites/reviewers I respect has been negative, along the lines of "if you want to see a good film about 9/11, see Flight 93. If you want to see a sappy piece of crap with no real substance see World Trade Center.

Flight 93 was terrible. It made me realize how stupid people are in they're in danger.

'zactly.

That said, I've heard critics say this is the best Stone movie ever...

I still won't go see it or Flight 93... I saw all I needed to see live on TV from 5 minutes after the first plane crashed up until both towers collapsed.

I appreciate Hollywood in their warped sense of contributing in trying to tell the story, but... as Royc said, we saw it. we lived it. leave it alone.

It's unfair to United 93 to even lump it into the same universe as this turd.

Amen...Those days just drained me...from Ed McCaffery breaking his leg on the night of the tenth...to the first report...to the days of dust and fire and news....everyone stopped for a minute and oddly for a few moments nothing else really mattered at all except being together.

I don't know if I could see either of them. I unfortunately was up in the air that day and was in Atlanta for several hours. I have relived that day over and over in my head and I just dont know if I could sit through either of those movies.
