I don't know what the "Alexa rating" is but when I sorted the results by "Dumbassery rating" the Planet came out on top. It wasn't even close.

Imagine where we would be if ht and I didn't have to stop the BB for an hour everyday waiting for things to stop and start because we have surpassed our HW config...

Seems right for the way they measure...

But, how is that exactly?..

I lurked on this board from the time I got on line, within the first few months of the CPs lifespan , I beleive. It is the only board I ever have registered on, sports or otherwise, though I quoted or paraphrased it daily for years first. See my post count, If I knew my silence would have contributed to a community rank, and it mattered, I may have registered sooner and jumped in at every turn during debates with Recount (Tom), Slayer Diablo, MeMe, Logical, etc,.. not that they were at each others throats or anything...

Disconnect user session after X time of inactivity? 3-5 minutes maybe.
keep user memory down? I'm guessing without looking at where all problems live.

CC has an average of over 500 users on it at the same time during the day. At 8:30 in the morning, right now there are over 700 users online. Mostly lurkers/guests

It is worse then that. Imagine being at 98% mem util when you start the db...Wow how does this thing run at all.

So short of more memory, another server...

Can the SGA (Oracle Terminology) size of what the DB uses / keeps in memory at startup be adjusted down.... to lower mem utilitization?

Searches may take longer (not as much easily addressible) but posting
new thread/replys should not suffer.

Does YourSQL use a aging out of memory based on least recently used algorithm...

Maybe I'll read up on YourSQL. Running MySQL V5 yet?
