Officer bitten; woman arrested
Police are holding a 20-year-old woman they say bit a Shawnee police officer.
According to police, officers approached the woman as she walked in the rain without shoes at 9:49 a.m. Thursday in the 7500 block of Kansas 7. She said she lived nearby.
An hour later, officers saw her in the rear of a house in the 7400 block of Hedge Lane Terrace and asked her for ID. She refused and fled.
Police who caught her said she then bit an officer through his pant leg, breaking the skin. The officer was treated at the hospital and released.
