I went with my children to Invincible and missed most of the first half but the 2nd quarter was good for the defense. :thumb:

By the way excellent movie.

Listening on the radio, it's a hell of a lot more encouraging than the first two games.

Tamba Hali's sack and strip was boner worthy.

Samie Parker was the most impressive guy IMO. He displayed YAC skills and great hands.

I really like Croyle. Most of his throws were pretty much catchable, and he doesn't bail too hard when there is some pressure, unlike Printers. Would be nice to see how well he can do with the first string O-linemen blocking for him.

I was impressed with Eric Hicks.

He kept his ass on the bench like a true pro.

Tamba's motor is noticable. Allen is all over the place. Mitchell is in on ever play.

Kennison pretty much catches everything thrown his was. Sampson looks good on running plays and stinks on passing plays. Black is mobile and works well on outside runs but also sucks in pass protection. Turley is holding his own. Dee Brown stinks and Benett will hopefully be #2. Croyle has an arm and is laying the ball in the right spot. Nobody other that Kennison and Parker can catch though. Croyle should be the #2.

Overall, the play of the defense was superior. The line was overpowering and the DBs held up.

Kawika Mitchell does an excellent job.

I love to see Tamba and Allen getting it done.

Thanks folks, we have absolutely no line depth and that really worries me but at least the starting crew improved.

Or is it just that the Rams suck?

In all honesty, this is the team that Herm promised. I don't put any weight in preseason, but if we can perform like this in the regular season against serious opponents, we'll be good. Our opening drive burned up half the first quarter and ended in a TD. The defense is opportunistic as hell and the 1st team was absolutely stuffing the run, though they did give up some stupid gains in 3rd and 4th down situations.

I agree 100%. He's poised. I predicted 1,000 yards 6 months ago.

I agree that the offensive line's depth is questionable, but I think the defensive line has decent depth with guys like Wilkerson, Dalton, Sims/Edwards (whichever doesn't start), and maybe Carlos Hall backing up the starters.

My error I meant 0-line and did not specifically state such.

Complete relentless pass rusher....got hits on the QB, sack to fumble

Just what I saw in TC.....the player with the most intensity on the field.

No Key only had 1 tackle according to NFL.com Sapp, Allen and Grigsby had the team lead with 5, 4 and 4 respectively.

Fox did very well. He had 2 3rd down stops. In on quite a few plays. Outplayed Bell to the bejesus......

Wesley needs to be benched. Its not because I like Pollard, its because for every good play Wesley makes, he makes 3 bad ones. I'd rather take the good and the band with Pollard.

Other than that, he was great. Kennison was great, too.

He has to get to the ground around tacklers. He has fumbled too many times after the catch.

He should study Tory Holt who hits the deck when he sees a hit coming.

My thoughts:

1) 1st string offense looked as good as they have all preseason. Trent was sharp, 8-11 for 100 yards and he and Kennison/Parker looked to be in midseason form tonight. Only concern about the starting offense tonight was their lack of production on first downs. The following is what the starting unit did on first downs on both of their drives tonight:
1) LJ run for 1 yard
2) LJ run for 1 yard
3) LJ run for 1 yard
4) Trent incomplete pass intended for Parker
5) Dee Brown run for 1 yard
6) LJ run for no gain
7) Trent incomplete pass intended for Cruz
8) Dee Brown run for 3 yards
9) Dee Brown run for 1 yard
10) Trent pass to Kennison for 10 yards
11) Dee Brown run for no gain
12) Dee Brown run for minus-1 yard

So that is 12 first down plays and only had a a signifcant gain for the starting O.

2) The defense as a whole looked much improved tonight, especially against the run. Pollard is playing up to his billing and it is hard to imagine him NOT starting if he keeps playing this way.

3) Colquitt looks like he is going to have a Pro Bowl season. I don't like the fact he is averaging like 7 punts a game, but he had a punting average of like 50 yards per punt tonight, including a 59 yard punt.

Overall I'd say a very productive preseason game. Starting O looked solid, starting D looked much improved and no injuries.
