View Full Version : Depending on how long Trent is out, possibly look at Billy Volek?

Sounds like the Titans might be looking to trade Volek.

If Trent is out for an extended period of time, might the Chiefs look at Volek as an option?

Without a doubt. Anything's better than Damon Huard.

I know anything is better than Huard, but Volek has looked like shit all preseason.

"We will rally around Damon Huard, and we will play good football."

Jaguar fan here.....we will give you Byron Leftwhich and our first rounder next year for Jared Allen and your second rounder next year.

Id rather just take a chance on developing Croyle. Throw him into the fire. This team isnt even going to sniff the Super Bowl this year.

Man....I kinda wish we woulda got Joey Harrington now. Looks like the Titans benched Kerry Collins. They might want to trade him too. Maybe we could get Kurt Warner away from Arizona. I hear Marcus Vick is looking for work. But then there's Casey Printers....aye yaye yaye!!!! Please be OK Trent!

Hmm. Interesting proposal. I think JA has more upside, but that 1st round pick plus a solid young QB is tempting.

I'm sorry, did you say "Jaguar fan" or "Jaguar GM"?

Either way....No.

Lefwhich has a cannon but tends to take too much time with the plays. I love Jared Allen and him with Stroud, Henderson and Haywood would be deadly for Jughead errrrrr Peyton.

With the complexity of our Offensive system, I seriously doubt that there are very many QBs out there that could step in right now and do any better than the QBs that are here.

I've got news for you. Billy Volek doesn't know this offense.

If we trade him, we're likely going to trade for a guy who can hand off to Larry Johnson and run a few short passes over the middle. He'll do this just in time for Trent to get back around midseason, or however long he's out

Why not just simplify the offense and at least get somebody with talent?

Damon Huard may know this offense like the back of his hand but it doesn't do much good if he doesn't have the physical ability to execute it.

Sure the offense would have to be scaled back with a new QB like Volek in there but on pure talent at least he would give the Chiefs a fighting shot at QB.

Why not let Croyle play?

Heh, after that last play, call up Printers. After all those preseason games, he's had the most experience so far with the other team in his face.

Todd Collins not looking too bad now.....

Todd Collins not looking too bad now.....

I was thinking that, too.

I think that Croyle should be playing until Trent gets back. He has about as much NFL experience as Huard does already, only he's young and talented.

No way should we trade for any QB who doesn't know the system to come in here and get beat up. We need all the daft picks we can get... Unless they want Ryan Sims. :p

We should just go with Huard or Croyle.

I'd like to get Croyle in there I'm just concerned about throwing in a rookie into the fire on the road @ Denver.

Perhaps pay him against San Fran if Trent isn't back by then.

Will they win with Volek? Hell no...so why would they have any interest in trading for him? God, I hope and pray no one at 1 Arrowhead is that brain dead! There is a reason that the Titans, who know him better than anyone in football, benched him in favor of Collins even though Collins knows none of the offense.
