what do you do in the next five days to prepare for the Broncos?

I would make several personnel changes:

* Page and Pollard in, Wesley and Knight out
* Webb in as 3rd receiver, Hall on returns only

I would also talk to Solari about some philosophy changes:
* Screens
* Slants
* Two TE sets
* Get Huard out of the pocket
* LJ and Gonzalez get the ball whenever possible

he has to be unpredictable and a little more innovative with the offense right off the bat..and dont put huard in obvious passing situations.throw more on 1st and second down..more play action on first down.it will have to be a total team effort to come out on top next sunday..JMO

3. The D is going to have to play a little riskier and go for turnovers. The D is going to need to score or set the offense up in field goal range.

The only real advantage we have at this point is that the Donx have no idea how to plan against our offense with Trent being out and Huard being in.

Try and use that to score early and let the defense do it's job. That would mean putting the ball in Huard's Hands but they'll be so ready for the run it just might work.

If Black is starting, we need to do a lot of 2 tightend sets.

Max protect as much as possible. Quick slants, screens, shotgun, you name it....we just gotta focus on those things first. These simple things.

Protect Huard. He has to take care of the ball as well. Run, run, run with LJ too. We need to use him more.

We can't turn the ball over, especially in Denver. Play great defense, stop the bootleg, watchout for misdirection play. Force some turnovers on defense.

Play a disiplined game. No penalties, we cant commit too many penalities.

We gotta get off to a good start. No question. But more importantly, we gotta want it.

My formula for this game is,

Stop the run
Stop the pass
Dont commit any turnovers
Force turnovers
No penalties
Outgain them in total yards of offense
Dominate in Time of possesion
and lastly, outscore them

Designate Hicks as the towel boy all week, let him gather up all the dirty laundry around the lockerroom, and tell the other DEs that's what happens to DEs that get burned on the bootleg.

Push for the lead and get it quick. A 2 TD lead will help the D as much as anything

Lots of quick stuff that minimizes the weakness we have at T.

Run LJ and mix it up with play-action.

Enough of this run 2 series, pass 2 series, we can run AND pass in the same series - the play-action really does work better when you do that.

I'd have a dump off in the flat in case of a rush - either LJ or Cruz. Priest used to get a ton of yards like that.

If we are up in the 4th quarter by 2+ TDs, I'd sit LJ and bring in Ross and let him run. (Why Ross? The kid looked good in camp, he could be a #2 as well as a short-yardage specialist with some game experience).


D

I'd make sure the D knows what to do on a bootleg. Then I'd make sure again. Run it constantly this week with Printers until they are reacting in their sleep. If we stop the bootleg, we won't see the bootleg.

Jam the WRs at the line of scrimmage and mess up the timing and make sure the safetys are in a position to cover incase the WRs get past Law and Surtain.

Blitz the LBs randomly and remind them that the TE is their responsibility.

I'd also tell the CBs that I EXPECT some pass interference calls out there. If there aren't any, then they aren't playing close enough. Once there are, praise them for their aggression then back them off just a bit.



Special teams

I'd make sure Dante knows that if I think he's struggling early or not giving full effort, I'm pulling him.



Accross the board, I'd sub often to keep the players fresh in that thin air.
