Amusingly, someone posted this on a Pats website thinking this was the Pats defense.

It's actually the Cards, defending against the Chiefs, in '95.

Yeah, That play is still talked about here once in a while. That's the first time I've actually seen it in years.

I havent clicked on the link yet but can I guess this was the Steve Bono QB sneak for like 60 yds?

76 yards...they said it was the longest run for a touchdown in NFL history...I'm guessing they meant for a quarterback.

Where have you gone, Joe Valerio?
A city turns its lonely eyes to you.
Woo, woo, woo.

"Touchdown" Joe Valerio

Used to love that tackle eligible play.

Damn...Bono was slow.
And yet still not one defender showed up in the frame durring that entire run. That play was hilarious I believe they showed the Chief's sideline after the extra point and everyone was laughing with/at Bono and his blazing speed.

I would have bet money this was going to be Tiki Barber's TD romp through the Chiefs last year.

We should try that next week with Huard

Just kidding... we still hate you, Paul Hackett.

HAHA i remember watching that live with my Dad. Still pretty incredible, you don't even see any Defensive guy in the screen after the snap. Where did they all go? Have a sandwich?

The funniest part for me at the time was the replay of the Cardinal players all standing around and looking at each other, trying to figure out where the ball was - while the play was still going on. :)

I was at that game in Phoenix, along with the rest of the Chiefs fans consisting of 75% of the stadium.

My dad, and all of my family from Tuscon were at that game, but I couldn't go because I was still in school. Sure would be nice if we still had family there now, not that I'm not glad they are closer, but I would have loved to go to the game this yr.

There are three huge plays that stick out me the most. I dont know why the third one does, but I think It's one of my last fond memories of the d.
1. The Bono run
2. Joe Montana monday night footballl touchdown pass to win the game
3. It was a shovel pass Elway threw in denver I believe, and Neil Smith? picked it off am I crazy?? I think it was raining????
someone help me out here please!

I remember that play. Probably why I bought a Bono jersey. I know, I know!

Bono evened it out with the time he ran into a pile of defenders and one of them just pulled the ball out of his hands and ran it back the other way...That was the thing with Bono - for every 70+ yard bootleg touchdown he'd do something boneheaded...

I was at that game back in 95. Every one in the stadium thought Marcus had the ball because we always gave it to him on 3rd and 1.

That was fun to watch again. IIRC, prior to that play, Bono had never even scrambled for positive yardage. LMAO

Is that still the longest run by a QB?

Whats funny is, I think Buddy Ryan was the HC of the Cards at the time and he was known as a defensive genius.

Yup. Between that and the playoffs in January of 94 (think Kieth Cash spiking the ball on the Buddy poster after scoring a TD), I'll bet Buddy Ryan has nightmares about the Chiefs. ROFL

He didn't even sell the fake. HOlding the ball way out for everyone to see it. Deberg would have put him to shame.

And that was a Buddy Ryan defense too. ROFL
