How appropriate a shitty football team playing in a stadium named after a shitty buy-a-diploma "college"

Hahaha. They have a "University of Phoenix" in Tulsa. They guarantee you a bachelors degree in an hour and a half......or something like that. I think they advertise on matchbook covers.

Pink Taco would've been far cooler.

I read a quote from a UofPhoenix rep earlier today that said having the stadium naming rights lended more credibility to the degree for their alumni. I'm not exactly sure how that works...

They're probably right. My impression of the "University" is that you pretty much buy your degree. They remind me of whatever school Sally Struthers used to do commercials for.

Do you think I could buy a PHD? DR Dark Horse has a nice ring to it.

Why the hell would anyone buy a diploma when you can just print one up on your PC?

Good point. I've never had anyone ask for the University to send a certified copy of my degree. I always take a copy of my diploma to the interview.

I am glad I went to a college that is so awesome we don't even have to put our names on a staduim. God Bless you Missouri Western State College. Yes I am being sarcastic

Missouri Western State can't even afford to put their name on their own stadium.

Their name being on Cardinals stadium improves that opinion?

Not me personally, but people who have never heard of the place will probably think it's a "real live" university just because of the brand recognition.

They're obviously doing well enough to buy stadium naming rights. I didn't even think they made that kinda money.

Being named after a University may be stupid, but i'll still take it after my stadium being named after an airline, packaging, or wireless communications company any day of the week.

I think it's probably right. Either way, there's no chance of it lowering their credibility.

U. of Phoenix is the defendant in two court actions right now,one of which involves fraudulent attainment of student aid funds. If it goes against U. Of Phoenix they will have their accredidation pulled which will effectively flush them down the toilet. It's just like the Cardinals to make a deal of this sort, they could **** up a free lunch.

BTW, the board of the U. PHX is meeting to vote on whether to finalize the deal; until they do it is not official.
