View Full Version : Trent Green: Things looking up

Mr. Laz
09-28-2006, 01:48 PM
Lynn Dickie was talking about Trent Green on 810 and sounded pretty optimistic about Green getting better.

he said that Green was only unconscious for 4 minutes of the 11 minutes he was down on the field.

also said the Green has taken a real turn for the better lately.

thinks Green MIGHT be back for the Steeler game ... but expects him shortly there after.

Trent said it was good to be back and involved in football, meetings, etc. Was tired of sitting around.

Right now it is day to day, week to week with the injury. Doctors told him not to expect anything else.

Will not practice this week. Might next week.

Remembers everything about Week 1 other than the play he was hurt on.

Says he feels good, and he's glad to be back alongside everyone.

The doctors haven't given him a timetable for his return, he's just day to day.

He doesn't think it's reasonable to expect him back against the Cardinals, because he hasn't practiced yet.

He's seen the hit since, but doesn't remember the hit, or the 25 minute gap surrounding it.

Seems justifiably pissed at the NFL for not flagging it. He goes back to when Harrison slid into his knee 6 years ago, yet it takes Carson Palmer getting hit in the same manner to make a rule change.

He wants to be on the sideline Sunday, giving his support.

The second he's given the green light, he's going. He's been on the elliptical machine, and has been doing some light throwing. He's been held back from running or heavy weight training.

says that he did not get hit and get a concussion but just got groggy on pain pills and supplements. says his publicist got in a huff and thought she saw Geathers lay a cheap shot on him. The league did an investigation and originally new he had been hit but then remembered he played for the chiefs and changed their tune with an "official" statement saying no fines or suspensions would be assessed, everything was legal.

or something like that

Exactly. He's definitely going to play. The question now is when. I'd rather him come back after the propensity for another concussion is eliminated , than subject himself to irreversible damage.

If anyone has earned the right to wait..it's Trent.
