This should be an interesting little piece of revisionist filmaking.

True, i just didnt like how the guy bashed the orginal Lester version in his review. Its not like its a piece of trash. Its dated and all that, but it was a very popular film at the time.

On November 28th they're releasing a ton of Superman stuff. Including Superman Returns on DVD, an 8-disc Christopher Reeve Superman boxset with the 4 movies....

And supposedly a 14-disc "Ultimate" Superman boxset, in a tin case. That'll have the 2-disc edition of Superman Returns, 4-disc edition of Superman The Movie (with both original and 2001 versions of the movie), 2-disc Superman II, 1-disc for this Donner Cut, Superman III & IV, plus three more discs: A documentary on the cinematic history of Superman, "Look Up in the Sky" - the A&E Superman documentary, plus a disc with all of Bryan Singer's video journals from making Superman Returns.

Plus commentaries, deleted scenes, etc, documentaries/TV specials on almost all the movies on the individual discs, plus an old 1951 George Reeves Superman feature, plus all the 1940's Fleischer Superman cartoons. Just tons of stuff. I'm geeked about it.

Here, retail is supposed to be $99, which hopefully means some of the places like Best Buy or Circuit City will have it cheaper.

plus all the 1940's Fleischer Superman cartoons.

I've got some of those. Nice artistic animation from the Golden Age of American cartoons before Hanna-Barbera (etc.) screwed it all up for the almighty dollar.

From what I've read, they've been restored and supposedly look amazing on the DVDs.

Geez! $99!!! I might consider that even though I think III and IV are completley worthless movies.

Collectors items at the least.

Eh, I wouldn't put stock into that. I don't know, maybe it will be that much. But the "standard" retail price for Superman Returns on DVD is $32 dollars, but you'll be able to buy it for $15-20 just like any other DVD. The retail price isn't always what they sell it at.

Then again, maybe it's different with a collector set like this. I really don't know. Even at 99 dollars you're talking $7 a disc, not too bad I guess.

See, it's up on Amazon pre-order now for $69.

Not cheap overall but it basically comes down to 5 dollars a disc.
