Scrabble is a big time sport, Mr. C-Mac.

They have national tours and tournaments and everything. I read that one of the past champions is an idiot savant who can remember every darn word in the dictionary. He has trouble getting to to the tournaments, though.

Hehe it is like the early days of espn when they had very obscure sports, and a lot of rodeo and table tennis. Although I am trying to figure out the scrabble open and why are do they carry the spelling bee championship as well?

Scrabble is not a good television sport, because it's slow-moving and it takes a long time for anything to happen. But, hey, if soccer can be televised, then scrabble can, too.

I couldn't believe ESPN broadcasted scrabble. That's pretty low. Pretty soon they'll be showing rock polishing competitions.

During the MLB playoffs they will be showing bridge. Can't wait to see who's the first with a "no-trump" bid.

I would be holding my breath waiting for the draw-four card to be played.

Wiener eating contests & scrabble but won't acknowledge MMA proving once and for all that someone over there at ESPN is a little light in the loafers.
