I talked, well, my girlfriend talked to the Chiefs chiropractor. He travels with the team and was with them in AZ. He said LJ is fine. He was a little sore, but there is not much chance of him missing any time.

Great news, Mr. Messier. Thanks for posting.

I'd like a chia pet confirmation on this, though.

I'm amazed of the number of people who work in the medical field who have either never heard of HIPAA or just choose to ignore it.

Well, you're someone who knows firsthand then. I went to one who really helped a lot. Sorry your results weren't the same.

Mine fixed me up pretty well. I did something to my back a couple of years ago, and it made my left outer thigh go numb. From head to toe, my skin burned and tingled like a bad sunburn. If I bent over to pick something up, it felt like two hooks pulling in my left heel. I run deliveries so bending is something I can't avoid. Now I can bend, stretch out, lift weights, and I have full sensation in my leg again, and no sunburn feeling.

The way the rules go, that chiropractor should have his license taken away.

I thought HIPAA only applies to medical professionals. Messier said the information came from a chiropractor.

Talked to her this morning. She was telling me her sources indicated LJ would be too tired to play sunday because he'll be standing all week due to the sore butt he's going to get this week over the fumbles.

There's a big difference between posting heresay info as it is and purporting to know a fact based on it. The dr00d post that is being referred to here was entitled "Trent Green to retire!" IIRC. If this thread was titled "LJ is completely fine and will return next week" I would think it was equally laughable.

When I went to my chiropractor, I had to sign a form giving them permission to have a seperate company develop my x-rays.

Sure he might feel ok, but shouldn't they just be on the safe side, and MRI him to make sure nothing small on the spine happened?

I wonder why they would call it off? That just sounds so strange to me. It just takes a few minutes, it makes no sense.
I love the news that he is fine, don't get me wrong.

I don't have proof of this but I would bet that professional athletes waive some of their medical privileges when they come into the league.

I have had a couple of them, they did not take very long. 15 minutes? It took longer for the paper work than the MRI.

I've had two MRI's on my shoulder. One took 45 minutes, the other an hour.

Eh, I'll give the team doctors the benefit of the doubt. If they don't think he needs an MRI, that's good enough for me.

That is much different then, I understand why they would not want to waste up to an hour checking LJ out.

Were you in that Giant Tube for an hour? I don't think I could have stood it that long myself.

Actually, if it had been you and your head did come off, as hard as LJ was running your body might have still scored. The only thing that kept LJ from scoring on that play was that his head stayed attached.
