Meaning focus on the problems and a bright shiny look at the future!

25. Realize this is only one game

24. Realize our #1 QB is out which will make the O better when he returns

23. Realize our #2 RB is out who helps rest LJ and throw a changeup to opposing D's

22. Realize our #3 CB Benny Sapp is out hurt

21. Realize that our #1 LT is hurt and we need one tackle position to be solid preferably the left one

20. Realize that your D can only be on the field so long before it gets tired

19. Offensive T.O.P. 25 Minutes of which the first possesion was 5 mins the last possesion of the 3rd quarter was four mins and the first possesion of the fourth was four mins..the other 9 possesions totaled 13 mins

18. Opportunities to recover turnovers four forced fumbles 1 recovered...need to practice recovering the ball

17. Field position of the 4 touchdowns in the first half Pitsburgh started at their own 20 (TD) or less one time... pit 42 (TD), 35 (TD) and 27 (TD) were the others...the FG came when they started on their own 10...the second possesion of the first quarter Pit 20 (punt)

16. The Chiefs D held Steelers to one offensive score in the second half that score came when ...suprise...the Steelers started on their own 38 yard line

15. The starting position for the other 5 offensive possesions? Pit 18 (fumble), 5 (punt), 14 (punt), 31 (end of game) and the KC 18 (missed FG)

14. The KC offense started every drive except one (15) at the 20 or better

13. The offense/special teams is the story here folks not the defense

12. Next week Sandy Eggo comes to our house...friendly confines makes the job easier

11. Sandy Eggo is not the DEFENDING SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS

10. A chance to catch back up to the top of the division

09. Michael Bennett should be returning soon

08. A trade for some offensive/defensive talent may be imminent

07. Benny Sapp should be back soon

06. Kyle Turley Should be back soon

05. Trent Green Shold be back soon

04. Better to lose big at the begining than the end of the season

03. Better to get all your injured players back late than to go out late

02. We just need to weather this storm a little while longer

01. GAZ is teh bomb

How about a option for

I've given up on the season and now I'm just looking for individual improvements to spark my interest for next year.

Here's ONE REASON:

NINETY PERCENT of Chiefsplanet expected this team to be 3-2 at this point. Almost EVERYONE had us losing in Denver and Pittsburgh.

We're behind the eight ball because we lost the opener. That means we have to steal one down the road somewhere.

STOP ****ING OVERREACTING.

#19 seems more of a reason to be depressed than inspired.

I picked #18 as my reason to smile through the tears.

I'll agree with you on that one. Given the shit we've gone through so far (Roaf, Trent), it's remarkable that we've still won the games I picked as wins and lost the games I picked as losses.

When the schedule was released in the spring, I said that, if we could make it halfway through the season at 50%, we'd be fine. This stretch of three games is by far the worst of the season. The second half of the season is MUCH easier than the first, so we've still got a chance.

There's no question that we played like shit yesterday. But you do have to admit that we were playing a Steelers team that had their backs against the wall. If they had lost to us, their season would be effectively over.

The only thing that stings is the severity of the loss. Hopefully, though, the team will use it as motivation not to let their guard down again.

This team has lost to Ciny Den and Pitt and the only team's they can beat are the nfc bottom feeders they havent shown anyone why they belong in the playoffs.

That's true, but two of those are legitimate superbowl contenders, and we never win in Denver. We certainly don't belong in the big game at this point, but I don't think that we can say for certain that we don't belong in the playoffs yet.

(Trying to remain optmistic here...)

As I mentioned above, we're exactly where I predicted we'd be at this point - even before I knew we'd lose Roaf and Trent. So far I don't see any reason to give up on the season. Pessimism is depressing, so I'll remain optimistic until we start losing games I originally predicted us to win.

San Diegos better than Pittsburgh so.......see it's one thing to expect to lose like I think most people here expected but it's another to get completely raped and look like you don't belong on the field.

I am optimistic because:

1. No loss is ever as bad as it seems. (Even this one.)
2. I'm a Homer with no hope for reform.
3. There is little reason to root for a team if there is no reason for optimism. Unless you are a masochist that is.
4. I am not a masochist.
5. The next game can't be worse than the last on right?
6. I played the entire 2006 season on my video game and the Chiefs won the Super Bowl!
7. I'm too stupid to know better.
8. Jordan Black has started 2 consectutive games in the same position.
9. Kevin Sampson has set a new personal record for consecutive starts without an injury.
10. Items 8 and 9 mean that the OL will "gel" soon.
11. My pickup truck is red and the Chiefs' uniforms are too.
12. Trent Green.
13. We will get to play some more Fake teams.
14. Carl has a 5 year plan.
15. The next game is at Arrowhead
16. The players should be embarassed and will take it out on the Chargers.
17. Herm should be embarassed and will come up with an amazing game plan.
18. Lamar should be embarassed and will remember this the next time contracts are due.
19. Our draft picks (that remain on our team) have all shown some flashes of ability.
20. Parker didn't drop any passes that I can remember.

First off, that picture may be old but I haven't seen it before and it's hilarious.

Secondly, I just can't look at the remaining schedule and see anything better than 8-8 tops. I don't think most are overreacting, they're just reacting.

I'm suprised 13-25 are not generating more discussion

We know the offensive special teams is doing good even without Dante returning the kicks

We know once we look at the numbers our Defense didn't "collapse" but that our offense couldn't give them a break and the defensive special teams couldn't pin the Steelers behind their own 20 all first half

We know that the offense is struggling mighitly missing our starting QB backup RB and #1 LT....we knew it was going to be tough without T-Rich, Roaf and Welborne, then you take away Green and the guy that was supposed to replace Roaf? I'm suprised we have generated any offense period...it is a patchwork offense right now....backup QB's are only there to get you through 2-3 games a year obviously otherwise they would be starting somewhere else....

the Defense is doing a good job of creating turnovers but needs to do a better job of recovering them...some of that is practice the rest is luck....

Yeah, we lost to Cincy, Den, and Pitt. A loss is a loss no matter how many points are put on the board. The loss to Den might have been different had the Chiefs won the OT coin toss. But hey I guess holding the ponies to no TDs at their place and losing by a field goal in OT means your team sucks. That game would've made the Chiefs 3 - 2 at this point. The other two losses were a pitiful example of how to play the game. I haven't given up on this season yet, but this team needs to show up to play from the start of the game for the rest of the season or we will once again be looking to next year.

Exactly...2-3 is not the end of the world we can still lose another 2-3 games and finish 11-5 or 10-6 do I think we are going to lose three more games? No. Do I think we are going to lose at least once more? probably.

I'm pretty sure that's the way most years go. Win the ones they are supposed to, and try to steal one or two more to get into the playoffs. It's a little different since the seahawks left the division, but not too much.

This year, if they stay in sight of .500 while some problems get worked on and some guys get healthy they can catch some momentum and make a run in the Dolphin-Raider-Bronco-Brown-Raven part of the season.
