to my external HD...

Because your external is a FAT32 system, it's probably not recognizing a file as big as the one you're trying to send to it.

You need to either split the file in half (or by quarters or whatever works best for you), or reformat your external as a NTFS drive.

Try disk cleanup in control panel..and then defrag...

Then try it again..how big is your hard drive??

Your computer wants to write to a temporary file and it doesn't have enough space on your disk. You need to clean some space before moving it to an external hard drive.

Thanks for the info. How does one accomplish the file split?

I will give this a shot. Thanks.

disk cleanup and defrag will free up more space for you..you should have enough room for that

I have already done both of those, but I will go through my Documents and see what I can clear out of it.

Thanks for the help all. :thumb:

I assume it's an AVI file of the game, so the best way is to download a free AVI splitter and use that to cut the movie into two halves. VirtualDub is my personal favorite, since you can edit out stuff like commercials or 3 and out drives you don't care about ever watching again, but there's lots of programs that will do it.

And just to be sure, I looked it up and FAT32 systems do have a max file limit of 4 gigs. So that's almost surely your problem.
