Well, I wasn't able to get the thread started before Stuart Scott went ghetto, oh well.

Just in case anyone is interested in talking about tonight's game. Or you can post about how god awful Stuart is, or how low is eye is now, whatever

Just a thought about last night's game with Dallas; say what you want about Bledsoe, but if TO wasn't there, and Drew was allowed to throw to Terry Glenn each week, they'd be doing a helluva lot better, IMO

I can't stand Stuart Scott! ESPN is falling into the major network abyss.

chagrin
10-30-2006, 05:07 PM
Well, so far it's an official anti-Bledsoe campaign by ESPN. Holy cow, I haven't seen them throw dirt on a QB like this, in a while. Stuart says "the only different thin g is that it's Romo and not Bledsoe". Give me a break, the line is blocking for a change, Terry Glenn didn't get to see the ball - horse hockey!

Eh...its football, i'll be watching. Interested to see if the viqueens are for real or if they are just another 06' hype baby as they have been every year for the last 10. They certainly have some great players, especially on D these days but they could fall victim to the talented on paper curse just like the skins.

You've got to be kidding me. Hey, just because TO is a douchebag doesn't mean he sucks. Get ahold of yourself. Having two great receivers is not a bad thing. Your hatred towards TO is just clouding your vision. Romo looked very good yesterday leading his troops to that comeback. The Cowboys needed a spark, and thats exactly what the tuna ordered even to the dismay of Jerry Jones

So we disagree, no biggie - The line blocked, which they haven't been all season, TO bitched until he got the ball (and when did I say TO sucks? Get ahold of YOURself, geesh.
I don't agree, but I won't sit here and say your vision is clouded. It's simple, when Drew felt comfortable throwing to Terry and Terry only, they won, then TO cried, and took Drew out of his game, he had to adjust for TO. Did you not notice that Terry got the ball thrown to him only 8 times last night? Did you see thier win loss record when Drew threw to Terry, then when he had to split the ball around? For some reason it just didn't work. Didn't work to Romo either, he threw twice as many to TO, facts dude. One more thing, tell me why the fuggin line all of the sudden can block? Gimme a break

See thats all I know is that he was accomplished. People usually only bring him up around Halloween, So I have always been a bit reluctant to ask. But I'm pretty sure he was accomplished at a minimum.

Minnesota has no receiving threats. None. Williamson has not yet developed and Taylor is a bust. They are too easy to scheme against and Childress is too damned predictable. They don't even use Hutchinson in space, which is just idiotic, IMO.

They made one blatantly bad call on an instant replay review and then called an iffy illegal contact on darren sharper, but other than that it wouldn't strike me as the worst officiating i've seen. They did make a correct call in the Vikings favor on a fumble.

He also told me there was a play where the Vikings for offensive PI where all the reciever did was turn around and catch the ball, he got a penalty for doing nothing. He also said there was another one where the entire NE Oline false started and there was no flag.

I just saw one horrific call, Mr. Mecca. A Vike catch that was ruled incomplete even after replay. Not long after that, the announcers' astounding rhetorical skill caused me to lose interest.

Good game by the Pats. Vikings looked very flat to me after their big win last week against the Seahags.

I'll state right now that I agree that there were a number of highly questionable referee calls, most of which went in the Pats favor. It's also fairly clear that it wouldn't have mattered much in the final outcome. None were game-changing type calls. But the Vikes didn't need the refs to compound their troubles, that's for sure.

It wasn't good, but I've seen worse. Main thing is that none of the calls were serious game changers.

Steelers-Colts in the playoffs last year was worse in terms of the importance of the calls. Some others come to mind as well, but that one stands out.

Agreed, Mr. Amnorix. Before ESPN's talent in the booth ran me off, it appeared that Brad wasn't competitive at all. He looked like a skinny Farve with no velocity.

The Vikes were outmatched in every aspect. Except the uniforms. I really like their sporting wear.

Yeah, Johnson's arm strength isn't NFL caliber. He can't take the Vikes anywhere with that arm. No deep ball, no deep outs. The Pats took the middle of the field away and forced him to go wide or deep, and his arm couldn't get the ball there.

That floater that was picked by the Pats (Chad Scott mebbe? The second pick we had) was just god-awful.

So Amno what do you think of not having Branch on the team now?
Seems to me Brady's receivers and he are getting comfortable with each other now and gelling nicely! With two excellent RB's and TE's he has plenty of weapons.

Honestly, I'd love to have Branch, and I think it's silly to think that this team wouldn't be better with Branch than without him.

That said, I'm an official drinker of the Belichick Kool-Aid, and never ripped them for the Branch deal. Part of the Pats success is that they just refuse to pay more for a player than they think he is worth -- they will NOT budge. Branch is a terrific playmaker, BUT he has never had 1,000 yards in a season, and never had mroe than 5 TDs in a season. And we traded him for a first round pick.

And it's not "cheapness" as some have said. Pats just resigned Center Dan Koppen to one of the top 5 contracts for a center in the NFL, keeping him out of FA this offseason. They put a value on a guy, and they don't budge. Branch and the Seahawks put more value on him than the Pats did, so he's gone, simple as that.

Still, all else being equal, I sure would like to have him.
