Goodbye, my sweet prince.

O’Shea said when he told him he was not married, Saddam “started telling me what to do.” “He was like, ‘you gotta find a good woman. Not too smart, not too dumb. Not too old, not too young. One that can cook and clean.”
Then he smiled, made what O’Shea interpreted as a “spanking” gesture, laughed and went back to washing his clothes in the sink.

Don't let him OFF himself.

A Public hanging is the easiest OUT he should get.

I wonder if they'll televise the hanging? I heard something about a law that says it's supposed to happen within 30 days of the verdict, but I can't believe I heard that right. Maybe 30 days after appeals are exhausted or something. In any event, surely they won't kill him until after the Kurds finish convicting him. Where is F. Lee Bailey when you need him?

From Yahoo News...

Saddam's chief lawyer Khalil al-Dulaimi condemned the trial as a "farce," claiming the verdict was planned. He said defense attorneys would appeal within 30 days.

The death sentences automatically go to a nine-judge appeals panel, which has unlimited time to review the case. If the verdicts and sentences are upheld, the executions must be carried out within 30 days.

This just cracked me up, I can just see little old Clark walking out with his tail between his legs.

"Before the session began, one of Saddam's lawyers, former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, was ejected from the courtroom after handing the judge a memorandum in which he called the trial a travesty.

Chief Judge Raouf Abdul-Rahman pointed to Clark and said in English, "Get out.""

I hope they do, sans the bag they usually put over the head.
