I have a project... short, but complicated. I need a screenwriter. I have the story... it's about a 5-minute project. If you're a scriptwriter, PM me. It is VERY important that proper format be followed, so I need someone that either has some experience or knows the ins and outs of proper scripting format.

Unfortunately I don't know the first thing about real screenwriting. I did coin a Chiefsplanet screenplay once upon a time though:

If it's only five minutes (hence five pages) why not just purchase a screenwriting book and learn proper format. Or go online and read through a few scripts of movies you know by hard. You'll get the format down easy.

I'd help but I'm finishing up three scripts as we speak and if I want to get paid I have to deliver them on Monday.

It really isn't hard at all -- don't worry about scene numbers or anything having to do with the shot list. And don't direct through the script (your words should convey the emotions the actor should be feeling -- if you use a bunch of parentheticals you'll lose your reader).

The one thing that always got me was why some words are capitalized but it really is just a function of whether or not it is an item that the prop department is going to have to procure for shooting (e.g. The man pulls a FOOTBALL out of the trunk) or for emphasis (e.g. He pulls back the tarp -- BAM -- a nasty blade plunges deep into his scrotum).

Read some scripts. You'll get it.

I know proper format like the back of my hand. Not worried about that... I'm worried about the script being good. I'm a director/producer... not a writer.

What kind of movies do you direct??

This one is a short. I've got some feature experience, as well. I've kinda been out of the scene for the last few years. I'm getting back into it.

Excellent. If you need a stuntman let me know. I am good at falling down the stairs. Also being the guy that gets knocked down in the street during a chase scene-lol

Dramatica!

And if you need a voice-over/narrator type, I'd like to know about auditions.

I'm a writer, but not a screenwriter (sigh).

Although I've been told full scripts for comics are a lot like full scripts for plays or movies, (esp. since I storyboard them before I write them). Obviously a skill set I probably should add to my repetoire one of these days.

OK... I'll extend my offer to playwrights as well... I just need someone to turn this story into a script of some sort... I can change the format, but I suck at writing.
