View Full Version : Thank You, Veterans On This Veteran's Day

Mr. Kotter

As a veteran myself, I thank you for your service. I know there are many on here, who have actually served in Desert Strom I and II....even if I only served during peace time (86-90,) I want you to know your courage and sacrifice are appreciated....even when it sometimes appears it is not.

YOU are why we are able to live as we do, to speak as we do, and to argue over stupid shit as we do.

THANK YOU!

You know this is the second thread I have seen here saying it was Veterans day. My desk calender didn't show it damnit.

I probably received more benifit from my 4 1/2 years in the Navy than they did from me, or maybe about even. It was a valuable experience, thanks to the other Vets!

Nope, they kept the smart ones out of harms way. I went to Korea and stayed drunk for a year.

I love Veterans Day.

It gives me a chance to pay my respects to the Men and Women of this great Country who have or are currently laying it on the line. Thanks!

Also, it gives me a chance to say thanks to my Dad (RIP) who fought in WWII and helped secure the victory with his participation on D-Day (Normandy). Love ya, Dad!

This nation was founded on principles, values, and ideas, and has numerous times, stood up and sacrificed for those same qualities. Not largely, because of usually young men that go overseas, but because of the whole of the country's people. But the men and women that serve deserve our best thoughts and efforts, they sacrifice more than the general population, and the least we can do is set aside a day to thank them and remember them. The most we can do is make sure that when they are sacrificing, they are doing so because of absolute necessary reasons, that dying and killing for your country is the right reason there is available. I would never want a person to fight and die for a cause that I wasn't willing to die for myself. I think us citizens need to believe that and practice it more.

Thank you to the Great Generation, who put their lives on hold to fight against inhumanity in World War II.

To the rest of the soldiers, this country could not operate strongly without the people that volunteer their lives for the military. In time, we may enter an age of reason, peace, and love, without a need for you. Until then, good luck and God bless.
