View Full Version : Darkwolfe and JazzzLovr's Engagement Party!

JazzzLovr
11-11-2006, 11:28 PM
When: Sunday, December 17, noonish?
Where: Nzoner's gameroom (if you haven't been there before, please PM Nzoner for directions)

Help us celebrate our engagement by joining us at Nzoner's for a football party!

Wings from Buffalo Wild Wings and assorted smoked meats will be provided--the rest is up to you! I'll keep an updated sign-up list for food here in the thread starter.

BYOB and be sure to bring your own coolers.

Although the party is actually Sunday afternoon, Nzoner has offered to let people come in on Saturday and stay the night. There will be a Saturday night football game on in the gameroom. Again, PM Nzoner to make arrangements for that.

There will, of course, be pool, ping pong, darts, etc. There will be 7 televised games at noon, and all AFC West teams play at 3:00 that day (except Chiefs at Chargers). The AFC West games will be shown side by side. The Chiefs at Chargers game has been moved to Sunday night at 7:15.

A Chiefs Surprise Pack will be awarded for the best dressed Chiefs fan.

As with most of Nzoner's parties, please remember that there are no children allowed and please respect Mr. and Mrs. Nzoner's property as they are being kind enough to accommodate us in their home!

Please RSVP in this thread and also let me know what you're bringing so that I can keep the list updated.

Thanks!

FOOD LIST

Darkwolfe & JazzzLovr: Buffalo Wild Wings and salad
Phobia: an assortment of smoked meats
Mr. and Mrs. Nzoner: BBQ beans, broasted potatoes, hot fudge cake

Q&A

Where are you registered?
We're registered at JCPenney and Wal-mart. We also have a honeymoon registry. For more detailed information, PM me.

What's a honeymoon registry?
Darkwolfe and I have both been living on our own long enough that we don't really need a lot of household items. A honeymoon registry is an alternative. It allows people to contribute toward our honeymoon expenses, such as tours or airfare.

I've set it up on Paypal with no amount specified, so people who want to contribute can spend as much or as little as they want. The registry also lists our entire itinerary, so people can choose to contribute toward a specific part of our honeymoon, or they can just contribute toward a general honeymoon fund. Again, for more details, PM me.

I'm not really the wedding shower type. This is probably as close as there will be to a wedding shower, unless one of my friends is planning to surprise me.

We're registered at JCPenney and Wal-mart. I'll add that to the thread starter. I'm not going to put my full name out there for just anyone to see tho. I'll PM you.

And anyone else that wants to know (provided I trust you ;) ), just PM me.

Hope you can make it!

Beer? Nah. I don't drink, and I certainly don't need to get Darkwolfe drunk in order to take advantage of him.

Hey, I'll be in my new place and unpacked by then. I could bake something to bring up. I make an awesome pineapple-coconut cake. Or oatmeal cookies with white chocolate chips. Or an apple spice cake. Or my Reese's cake.

It's been way too long since I've baked.

also, the no-kiddies rule in the gameroom kinda puts a damper on my plans as well with a 17 month old and another one due in january!

Shouldn't be a big deal for us. I have Mondays off again and Jazzz usually works from home that day of the week. As long as it doesn't give anyone else too much trouble it should be fine either way.

And I've been meaning to PM you ever since, but being in the last weeks of my graduate course and the last month of my wedding planning, I have been pretty much meeting myself coming and going! I'm just hoping I can finish writing a paper today and get another one finished by Friday, then I can quit worrying about my class, at least!

BTW, that was an incredible game, wasn't it? I haven't heard the crowd being that loud in a long time.

So since I probably won't be doing a lot of PM-ing until late January, I'll just make this my official "Nice to have met you" post! :) Thanks for coming down to say hi. Sorry we didn't get to talk more, but as you said, the show was about to start. Of course, there are people here who would be surprised that you got one word out of me...

Anyway, one last note that I thought you might get a kick out of.... When you came down to say hi, you were standing right about where David proposed to me. :)

Again, nice to finally meet you!

For those of you who are attending, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this with us. For those who have let me know that they would like to be there but live too far away or have other things going on, thank you for your thoughts and your kind words. There were several of you that I had hoped would be able to be there, but I know this is a difficult time of the year to get people together with all the holiday stuff going on.
