Thoughts?

Good or bad that we are facing Denver after a loss?

Predictions, etc...

If we get Waters, Gonzo and DJ back, we'll win. We may win anyway. But I definitely think we'll win if get those Big 3 back.

Well to beat Denver obviously the game plan will need to get Trent more involved and for that to happen, we really need to get TG back.

If we get TG, DJ back, that'd be huge.

Denver just gave up a 17 point lead at home in the second half. Denver's starting QB had worse overall numbers tonight than Green did, coming back rusty.

Denver just lost a game that had to have left them butt hurt. Denver is going into a 4 week stretch of facing Tomlinson, Johnson, Alexander and Tomlinson.

The Chiefs can take Denver from first place in the division and drive them into the ground with a piledriver to 3rd.....getting ready to face a Hassleback-Alexander Seahawks, and then the Eggos again, only away this time.

The Chiefs looked pedestrian today, but Green looked good in the 4th quarter, Waters, Gonzalez, DJ and possibly wesley could be back.

Its at Arrowhead with an extra half day of rest and no travel day for the Chiefs.

I'm looking forward to the game.

I'll predict it won't be cold.....

Supposed to be 60 for the high temp, 48 for the low......

Will be a very comfortable night for the fans, much like the MNF game against the Pats a couple years back....

Oh, and we'll win........

I'd like to find a game story from November 28, 1969 when the Chiefs beat the Broncos on Thanksgiving Day. I remember the game & how Bobby Bell recovered an onside kick & returned it for a TD & the Chiefs won 31-17.

And when we beat the Donks on Thanksgiving Day, we would be tied at 7-4 records with the tiebreakers going:

For Division (mute point but I'm still going through it)
1. Head to Head - 1-1
2. Best PCT within Division - Chiefs 3-1 .750, Donks 3-2 .600
3. Best PCT common games - Chiefs 3-1 .750, Donks 3-2 .600

For Wild Card
1. Head to Head 1-1
2. Best PCT in Conference - Chiefs 3-4 .429, Donks 6-4 .6
3. 3. Best PCT common games - Chiefs 3-1 .750, Donks 3-2 .600

Put in some 3rd string nose tackle to punch Nalen in the head. That way its OK when he gets ejected.

Chiefs 60
Donks 9

DJ will play and thanks to him, hali, and allen Plummer will be sacked 16 times forcing an injury and Cutler to make a debut. Cutler will then be gang raped and the Donks will leave looking for a new QB. And some hope at a wildcard. LJ will leave with a new single game rushing record of 357 yards and 5 TDs on only 24 carries.

I expect the Chiefs to win because I expect SD, Den, and KC to all hold serve. Of course that held true until tonight where I got to witness my team blow a 17-point 2nd half lead in person. I just hope if KC wins, Shanahan has the balls to make the switch to Cutler.

The Wild Card Tie Breaker is the same as the division tiebreakers for teams in the same division. So we need not worry about the conference games. (Of course that is true if we are talking about the Chiefs and Donks battling for the wild card)

If the Bonkos get the W, our Chiefs will virtually be eliminated from the play-offs: 6-5 record, 2 losses to Dumver, only 2 wins against AFC teams, etc. Let's hope Herm PLAYS TO WIN this time against Sham'n'scam's dirty cheaters, instead of trying for a tie and luck with the OT coin flip.

So here we are again, with the season on the line…the stinkin’, cheatin’ Donks coming to Arrowhead. Technically not a must-win, but practically, it’s the season. The Chiefs had to beat the Raiders, and they escaped with the W with many key starters out injured. A brutal classic between arch rivals; this is what football is all about. Here are the stats up front:

KC Score O – 21 ppg (12) vs DEN Score D – 15 ppg (4)…adv DEN
KC Rush O – 125 ypg (10) vs DEN Rush D – 90 ypg (5)...adv DEN
KC Pass O – 189 ypg (21) vs DEN Pass D – 225 ypg (24)...wash

DEN Score O – 19 ppg (17) vs KC Score D – 20 ppg (11)...adv KC
DEN Rush O – 142 ypg (4) vs KC Rush D – 116 ypg (16)...adv DEN
DEN Pass O – 168 ypg (27) vs KC Pass D – 199 ypg (12)…adv KC

Giveaways:
DEN – 11 INT & 5 fumbles in 10 games (+4 differential)
KC – 4 INT & 10 fumbles in 10 games (+4 differential)
Wash

Homefield Advantage: CHIEFS

DEN Key Players (against Rams, Chiefs, Pats, Ravens, Raiderz, Browns, Colts, Steelers, Raiderz, & Chargers):
QB Plummer – 1778 yds, 54% comp., 10 TD, 11 INT
RB T. Bell – 649 yds, 4.3 ypc, 2 TD
RB M. Bell – 395 yds, 4.4 ypc, 5 TD
WR Walker – 799 yds, 6 TD
WR R. Smith – 343 yds, 2 TD
DE Dumervil – 9 tackles, 6 sacks
DE Ekuban – 23 tackles, 3.5 sacks
LB Wilson – 60 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF
LB Gold – 44 tackles, 1 FF
CB Bailey – 46 tackles, 5 INT
CB Williams – 50 tackles, 2 INT
P Ernster – 41 yd avg, 14 I20
Key DEN injuries: ?

Donks’ last game: the Donks blew a 17 point lead in the second half, losing to San Diego 35-27.

KC Key Players (against Bengals, Donks, 49ers, Cards, Steelers, Chargers, Seahawks, Rams, Dolphins, and Raiderz):
QB Green – 192 yds, 65% comp., 0 TD, 1 INT
RB Johnson – 1045 yds, 4.2 ypc, 12 TD
TE Gonzales – 588 yds, 3 TD
WR Kennison – 521 yds, 2 TD
DE Allen – 43 tackles, 6 sacks
DE Hali – 27 tackles, 3.5 sacks
LB D. Johnson – 32 tackles, 4.5 sacks
LB Mitchell – 47 tackles, 1.5 sacks
P Colquitt – 45.4 yard avg, 15 I20
Key KC injuries: LG Waters (knee) – Q, TE Gonzales (shoulder) – Q, LB Johnson (ankle) – Q, FS Wesley (shoulder) – Q, RT Sampson (foot) – Q.

Chiefs’ last game: Trent Green kicked off the rust in a run-heavy attack, beating the Raiderz in a nail-biter. Oakland led by 3 in the 4th quarter, when Green showed his passing acumen of old. He marched the Chiefs downfield, where LJ punched it in to go up 17-13. Throughout the game, the Chiefs’ defense struggled, allowing the Raiderz to convert several 3rd downs to sustain drives. Jarrad Page sealed the game by picking off a Brooks pass in the endzone, keeping the Chiefs in the wildcard hunt at 6-4.

If the Chiefs are finally healthy and have Waters, Gonzales, Sampson, and Derrick Johnson back, they can win this game and tie for second in the AFCW. The adversity of playing the first 10 games in a constant state of injury-ridden turmoil has hopefully made them better for it. The defense must stop 3rd and long conversions. The sputtering offense and Tynes’ short KOs consistently gave the Raiderz a short field; if this happens Thursday, the Donks will win. This game will come down to a critical turnover and/or FG.

I think we have the Fake's number at Arrowhead. We need to get up early and force him to be Jake. If that happens, we'll get at least 2 INT's out of him.

Chiefs 24, Donks 10.

We get up for this mother f*cking game. No more f*cking around like a mediocre team with the talent we have.

LJ runs wild (and gets carries at the RIGHT time), Trent completes 65% and doesn't turn it over, and the defense FINALLY shows up for a dominant performance on PrimeTime.

There's a lot more optimism on this thread than I'm feeling.

KC has just went through a 2 game stretch in which it's offense ran into 2-quarter+ dry spells (i.e. multiple three and outs). Waters and Gonzo need to come back and be operating at close to 90%. I don't think we can count on that can we?

Defensively, It is obvious this defense needs DJ, Allen and Hali all healthy. Hali is dinged up and has been invisible the last two games and the explosion that DJ brings is visibly lacking.

If all four are helathy and ready to go, I feel pretty confident. If not, I think Denver comes out of Arrowhead with a win. Too many key players dinged up for KC to be considered a lock to win at home right now.

Common games could be a factor. Denver might look good against the Browns of the world, but they lost to San Diego in their house and beat the Raiders in a game scored exactly the same as ours.

Before someone mentions Pittsburgh, I offer you St. Louis.
