They didn't eat any crow. They just pretended it never happened.

When we took a picture of the participants all the sudden nobody played in that game.

Wutamess, I'm a maybe because the in-laws will be in town. If I can do my in-law duty well enough Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, I'll definitely be there. If not....

Dude, I'm with Roger on this one. Don't get me wrong, I like tackle. I used to play tackle football in my younger years (early 20s). Now, I don't consider myself old (35), but I gotta think about my responsibilities. I've got a family to support and getting injured in a pickup game of tackle football would just be....well.....dumb.

Phobia
11-23-2006, 10:48 AM
Yeah, I stopped playing tackle football with no pads in the Marine Corps. In fact, we hurt so many guys we were ORDERED to stop playing tackle. Tackle without pads is fine for young guys, but when you get over 25 it's just not wise.

Demonpenz
11-23-2006, 11:33 AM

I wish I had the video. But last year we went over to my friends house and his dad coached a pee wee league like 10 years ago. So we took the equipment and made it fit. I took the ear flaps out and wedged my noggen in there. THen I took my pads and ducked tape a torn pillow to the back of my shoulder pads to give me an okoye like neckroll. Yeah Only one person got injured that was when he was pushed into the goal posts. Needless to say we had our bad idea jeans on. Plus we were all leveling eachother and clipping just because we wanted to blow people up

I acknowledged the high hands in the throat. I felt badly about that.

The block in the back was completely legal because it was in the pocket.

Since when is a block in the back legal?

Doesn't matter, I was just giving you shit. You play hard and that's all that matters. That one where got me on the QB INT was my fault for not noticing you soon enough. Besides, a lot of stuff like that happens. You weren't the only one who did stuff that wasn't exactly legal. It's just part of football. ;)

Hell its all good. I got jacked on a couple of plays but then i jacked a few guys from time to time. By the way for the 1st timers it gets easier each time you play and stamina goes way up.

I really wouldn't care about anything unless it was something stupid like blowing someone up late from the back or something. Luckily we have good guys that play. I remember thinking last year when we played we are going to have one guy who brings his sweatbands and oakleys who is going to start a fight if someone blocks him.

The first time I came out (2 weeks ago) my body felt like one big bruise for the next few days. I actually had the nerve to go out that night and I was so stiff it looked like I was doing the robot when I was dancing.

Saturday was the second time I played, and afterwards I felt great. I guess I wasn't in as bad shape as I thought because I wasn't even tired after playing for 4 hours.

I suggest everyone who is available come out while the weather is permitting.

P.S. I want to personally thank all the opposing teams quarterbacks who were doing their best to impersonate the '05 Brett Farve. I mean EVERYBODY (except 1) on our team had an interception that first game. LOL

That was fun. I had to go home early and eat with the family before they headed out of town and went back up to Chicago. Wish I coulda played longer though. I'll try to play as long as I am in town. Luckily this time I was due to Thanksgiving break.

I'm one hell of a DE. jk
