I'm as big an LJ homer as anyone, but Bennett continues to light it up when he gets it. No doubt he won't be able to average 26 yards per carry if he touches it more, but he's still a perfect change-of-pace back to spell Johnson.

I'm in favor of: LJ 28-32, Bennett 6-10.

What say you?

according to some other opinions i've seen on here, with his average , we should bench lj. seriously though, in the 10 or so neighborhood wouldn't be so bad.

I say YES. Larry is amazing, but I don't want him to get worn out having to carry 34 or more times each game.

I am not interested in setting a hard ratio, but I agree that Bennett brings a whole different warhead to the Chiefs missile.

What really intrigues me is the idea of both of them in the backfield at the same time.

Thunder & Lightning

I very much agree.

We need just a little bit more lightning IMO.

Larry wears down the defense. Come the second half, that's when I think Bennett should see a few carries.

He doesn't even have to see them one after the other. Let him come in every now and again to bust a big one.

It almost makes me think Herm has LJ on his fantasy team. When we run the ball 35 to 45 times Bennet has to get more carries or LJ will last about as long as a twinkie at the Whitlock house.

"He ain't going to have a 10-year career," Edwards said. "He's a power guy who loves the work, loves the contact. So we're going to give it to him."

Wow he really said that.

Yeah, he said that, and then went on to say something like LJ would probably get mad if he didn't give him it that much...

MB needs more carries and keep LJ around the 25 mark if possible

If Bennett carries the ball more than 8 times again, you can expect him to injure something.

Yeah, they should use that two-HB shotgun formation that the Chiefs use in Madden 07.

Can you imagine them in the backfield together running either that quick pitch to the outside to Bennett or a quick hitter up the gut to LJ....how would you defense that?

Not something I would want every time (having them both in the backfield), but it would be great to spring on the opponent a few times during the game.

What are you thinking? Pro Set formation?

What are you thinking? Pro Set formation?

Yah.

Either Back would be a threat to slip out into the flat, so The Enemy could not simply stack the line and sell out against the run. The more options you have, the thinner you can spread the Defense.

Of course, Herm would have to convince Bennett & Johnson that blocking is a good and worthy task…

Wilson would also be a good choice for the FB in that set.

After last night's game, LJ is on pace to tie Jamal Anderson's NFL record of 410 carries in a season.
