I remember (was it a Monday night game?) going into Baltimore a couple of years ago. All the hype was about the great, fabulous, hard-hitting, fearsome Baltimore defense and Ray Lewis the second coming of Ray Lewis. We were probably 10 point underdogs at least. Lewis was miked and all he wound up talking about was how double teams weren't fair. Problem was, he was getting Raycaked by Waters and our kidney one on one all night long.

That was a great game.

The Ravens do well when Jamal Lewis gets going. Against our defense at Arrowhead, that won't happen. It will be a defensive battle, not an ass kicking.

What I think is funny, Mr. UteChief, is that all the talk is always about how "physical" the Baltimore defense is. Ray didn't feel quite so "physical" with a bloody nose and a butt ache after the 2nd quarter.

People who think the Chiefs aren't a physical team deserve a good heckling.

Arrowhead in December? A loss? WTF are they smoking. 20-1 since 1996
From wilkipedia:
Chiefs extend their December home win streak to 18 games—the longest in the NFL since 1970—and giving them a 20-1 December home record since 1995. Their last loss at home in December was versus the Indianapolis Colts (http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/Indianapolis_Colts) on December 15 (http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/December_15), 1996 (http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/1996).

We should be worried, they are the best team left on our schedule. Homefield in December is a huge advantage, but that alone doesn't ensure victory. The Ravens defense is a bad matchup for us, we will need our defense to play lights out to win.

Agreed, Mr. bunnytrdr. Since I don't expect us to win on the road, it was a great experience. In respect to DV-Era road wins, I think of that one and the Green Bay game when we won in the waning moments with the bomb to Eddie. That was exciting, too.

I wish people would stop worrying so much about Baltimore's defense, though. I expect a solid win against them. They've had a pretty easy schedule playing TN, Tampa, Oakland, Cleveland, Atlanta, and a pretty messed up Pittsburgh team.

Their record is somewhat misleading.

Really? The Browns will have a very hard time running on us and Charlie Frye threw 4 INTs today. If we can get any pressure on Frye at all, our D should be able to handle them easily. As long as we don't make stupid turnovers, this is a game we should win. I know we can struggle in Cleveland, but the Browns just aren't a very good team.

The Ravens are a definite cause for concern. However, I don't fear teams that don't have a solid offense, and to me, the Ravens offense is very lackluster. With KC's running game, and Trent back healthy, our O will put up points against anyone at Arrowhead. It will take a Colts, NE, Bengals team to worry me coming into Arrowhead.

The only thing that worries me about this game is that Baltimore has an extra three days to rest thanks to their game against Cincinnati on Thursday (which they better win, because Cincy is starting to make some serious noise in the Wild Card race.) Either way, let's' hope the Cincy-Balt game is a physical one, with the Ravens winning 42-41 on a half dozen pick sixes by Ed Reed.

Offensively, Balt is very much 1 dimensional. Stop 31, and Steve McNair isn't going to beat you.

I think the Chiefs are built in a way that sets them up well vs the Balt D.....Besides being a December home game in Arrowhead, the Chiefs will run the ball right at the Balt D, which helps negate the sideline-sideline speed of their lbs. It will be a ball control game, run the ball to set up the pass.

I see a lower scoring 24-17 type game.

The coaching staff has a big job ahead of them against the Ravens. We cant have any of those 3 and out 1st half parties that we've seen in some games this year. I think the Chiefs D is up to the task of stopping Jamal Lewis, but not if the offense cannot stay on the field.

If the Chiefs defense has to stay on the field all game, I dont like their chances of stopping 31 all day.

Im of the opinion that it will probably take more than 100 or so passing yards from Trent Green to win the game against the Ravens. Their defense is good enough to stop Johnson if the Chiefs opt to give Green less than 20 passing attempts all game.

But, if the Chiefs can get a couple good scoring drives early (Touchdowns, NOT field goals...) then the score could give the Chiefs defense help in controlling Jamal Lewis, because its tough to run playing from behind.

My concern is that Rudd is no longer playing for the Browns. I don't know if we can win without his help! :)

Anybody spend much time in Vancouver?

FAX

Been to Whistler and Vancouver. Both places are great. Vancouver like Seattle are overcast and rainy quite a lot, but if you can get over this it's a wonderful City. Whistler is absolutely gorgeous viewing and the town is nestled right between Blackcomb and Whistler Mts, great Town. :thumb:

We share this opinion, Mr. chiefsfan1963. I like the international flavour of Vancouver. High tea at the Hotel Vancouver is a very pleasant and relaxing experience albeit somewhat overly civilized for my midwestern, pioneer stock taste. They have what is absolutely the finest cigar store in the world in downtown Vancouver, though. Overstuffed leather chairs, dark mahogany panelling, and daily newspapers from all nations in the smoking room. Oh, and there are beautiful women everywhere. They need an expansion team.

I've heard about a train that you can take all across Canada. If this myth is, in fact, true. I'd like to do that sometime.

Anybody else think the Kansas City Chiefs will kick our ass?

After watching them dismantle the Broncos, I am afraid for McNair's health and our chances of a loss.

What in the name of Mr. Bob Dole's glare does this have to do with Vancouver?

You like cigars? Have you checked out jrcigars.com great prices and good selection. My local vendor can't compete. My favorite brand is Ashton's and I save more than 50% by buying online.

the Baltimore D is playing well....but their offense is toothless...and McNair is so over rated it is laughable...

a tough game we could easily lose, but at home I have to think we pull it out....maybe then we would get some love nationally...unless Romo ties his shoe which would get 24/7 coverage for a week...

In Arrowhead....I think not. I remember last time McNair came to Arrowhead...he left in an ambulance

The game Clemons knocked him out was in Tennessee. I don't think McNair has ever played at Arrowhead.
