As I have been saying for awhile now 4-1 from here on out or we are not going to the playoffs. We have got to be 11-5 to guarantee a spot!

We better not look beyond the Browns game. If we do we're f**ked!

really why's that?

It would require a 100% chance, Mr. chiefsfan1963. Under Mr. cdcox's system, there is only a 99.99999% chance.

Of all 4 losses this year, the 'Gals loss was the most inexcusable. How do you beat a team 37-3 on the 16th game of 2005 and lose to it 23-10 on the first game of 2006? This is easily Herm's worst performance as a coach. We should have beaten their balls into dust in Arrowhead. LJ torched them in '05. Thats the one game I wish we could get back. We are sooooooooooooo much better than Cincy.

really why's that?

One scenario of many:

NE, Indy, Balt and SD at 12-4 or better and win their division

KC 11-5.

Then any 2 of the following 3:

Cincinnati at 11-5 with a head to head advantage over us.

Jets at 11-5 with a better conference record.

Denver at 11-5 with their remaining loss against any team other than SD.

Please don't start threads telling us we need to win out. Just because it can happen doesn't mean it will.

10 wins more often than not will get you in the playoffs. Before last year's Chiefs, I can't think of the last team to win 10 games and not get in the playoffs. 11 wins is a virtual lock.

2003 - Miami and before that I think it was 1991 with the 49ers.

The '85 Broncos went 11-5 and missed the playoffs. LMAO :thumb: LMAO Back then, there were only 5 playoff teams per conference.

I disagree. The no-show at Pittsburgh was far more embarrassing

IIRC Cincy was resting players since the game had no playoff implications for them.

I still don't know how the Ravens got to 9-2. They don't impress me that much. The NFL just sucks... the AFC is way better than the NFC, and the AFC sucks. You look at the top 3.... Indy has a real spotty defense and just don't look that impressive, the Ravens have looked bad against good competition, the Chargers have Marty.

McNair didn't look good at all tonight. The weather really wasn't that bad until the 2nd half, then it got really wet. I'm totally drenched. The Bengals have looked pretty good the last two weeks though. They seem to be hitting their stride at the right time... still like to see what they do against a good offense though.

There's no bad news out of last night's game.

Cinci showed everyone that the Ravens aren't invisible.

And there's still no chance Cinci makes the playoffs. Their version of the 2003 Chiefs defense will get slaughtered by both Denver and Indy.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to beat a team when you can't even see them.

I totally agree. To me, their back-to-back D performances are reminiscent of when we beat Arizona and St. Louis at home by a combined 98-10 in 2002, then turned around and give up 31, 22 and 24 points to Denver, SD and Oakland.

Cincy's defense looked better last night primarily because the Ravens offense just isn't that great...

Bob Dole is confused.

Isn't saying that we need to go 4-1 and finish 11-5, by definition, looking beyond beating Cleveland to move to 8-4?

And is there something wrong with the forum? Bob Dole would have sworn this exact same topic was posted a week ago, but the date stamp says yesterday.

Bungles made some plays on the Ravens D....rain factor.
on of the weakest 'Onside Kick attempts' at the end, I have ever seen.

Overall unimpressive by both teams.

I don't see Ravens winning in our house on Dec 10th, unless we don't show up.

Barring the Ravens either benefitting greatly from three days of R&R or a massive offensive gameplan change, I'm feeling a lot better about our chances in two weeks.

Yes the Ravens are built by a subpar offense and a good defense. Steve Mcnair, as proven by last night, can be bullied around so as long as we stick to our Thanksgiving defense we'll be sitting pretty when they come to town. If we beat San Diego at their home then that'll stir some shit up =P Since everyone else is throwing out what ifs I thought I might as well too.

Let's not get too cocky though, their defense is still pretty good... they held a very good offense to 13 points last night. We definitely need to make sure we don't turn the ball over to that defense, that might be the biggest key.

Like The Steelers didn't look all that tough the week before we played them. Also don't judge anybody by how they perform in a divisional rivalry.

They deserved to miss the playoffs that year, one of their wins came when a 17-year old, using his parent's season tix w/o their knowledge threw a snowball in front of the SF kicker as he attempted the GW fieldgoal. The parents had their season tix revoked.

I think the kid is still grounded.

I know but honestly when you hold the Donks to 38 yards rushing I'll take that defense any day of the week. And we're at home which last time I checked usually works out in our favor against supbar offenses.

We're 9th in points against and we're only giving up 3.81 yards per carry. That's a little better than "average".

Not bad for an idiot! ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL

There's always next year folks. As I said before this team is not a playoff team yet. With all the changes in coaching style and mentality, making the playoffs was always a stretch in 2006. If they can go 4-0 they'll make it, but the truth we all know deep in our hearts THIS TEAM IS NOT A PLAYOFF TEAM! Looking forward to another good draft in 2007 and finally a legit playoff team with at least 11 wins.
