I thought I posted a thread about where the Chiefs relate to the Royals as far as being a small market or middle market franchise... Seems like Carl is doing pretty good in KC....

That's sick that the Colts and Bolts can be so good with that little of payroll.

Is this current payroll only, or salary cap figures (including dead money)?

I don't know about the Colts, but as for the Chargers, it's a product of good drafts, and draft day trades.

A lot of young guys on the first NFL contract.

I'm guessing that PayMe Mangining will eventually screw up the cap works in Indy.

That number has to be the total salary for this year the salary cap is $102 million this year.

I remember two or three years ago when the Titans were at the top of that list and not the bottom. Get Vince some legit recievers!

CP could use that extra $18M difference (between our current payroll and the cap) to pick up 2-3 talented, experienced players and get our team to the next level. But, most likely, he'll do the usual and pocket it.

I think the Colts are so low because of all their young defensive players and back-loaded deals for the offense.

but the Titans, Packers, Redskins are low because they had a lot of dead money against the cap, so the couldn't spend as much on payroll.

Much as I don't like Peterson, it's more likely that the Hunt family passes it down that they'd rather not spend for the sake of being able to spend than Carl making any kind of conscious decision to stay well below the salary cap.

These numbers mean nothing. All NFL franchises spend around the same amount. This is just the amount we are shelling out this year. The franchises near the top most likely have a lot of dead cap room and are paying off old signing bonuses. Shows you how good of a GM Alex Smith is, I guess.
