POWER RANKINGS
Current Team Previous
1 Chargers · Trends 3
It wasn't pretty on the road against the Bills, but they found a way. That's the sign of a good team.
2 Colts · Trends 1
Losing to the Titans could cost them home-field advantage in the playoffs. Now comes a tough test at Jacksonville.
3 Ravens · Trends 2
The offense was dormant last week, and that can't happen in Kansas City. The division is probably theirs, but they're playing for a seed.
4 Patriots · Trends 4
The Patriots didn't play well against the Lions, but managed to escape. That doesn't happen against a good team. They have to be careful.
5 Bears · Trends 5
The quarterback play is awful, which has to be a concern heading to the playoffs. At some point, Rex Grossman has to make plays.
6 Cowboys · Trends 6
They're as hot as any team in the league right now. Tony Romo has really rejuvenated Dallas. Now comes a tough one with the Saints.
7 Seahawks · Trends 8
They're playing for a seed now, with the division in their pockets. They can use the next four weeks to get the offense clicking.
8 Saints · Trends 9
Reggie Bush is alive and well, the defense has played well the past two weeks and we know Drew Brees and the pass offense can do their part. This is a good team.
9 Bengals · Trends 12
The passing game is coming alive, which you knew it would, but the real surprise is the defense. If that continues, they will be in the playoffs.
10 Jaguars · Trends 13
They played well in beating the Dolphins, but there is no let-up. Here come the Colts.
11 Chiefs · Trends 10
Losing that one at Cleveland, after leading by 14 points, could cost them the postseason. What the heck happened to the pass defense?
12 Broncos · Trends 7
The change at quarterback didn't do much. Now they have to go to San Diego. They're in big trouble.
13 Jets · Trends 14
Don't look now, but they're in good shape in terms of the wild card. The schedule is soft, but they're also playing well.
14 Giants · Trends 15
They played better against the Cowboys, but it's still the same results. A loss at Carolina could doom this team.
15 Eagles · Trends 20
They're still alive and kicking. That's amazing. Jeff Garcia is playing well. Now if the defense could only play better.
16 Falcons · Trends 16
That was a season-saver against the Redskins. But the Falcons still didn't throw the ball that well. And that will be their undoing.
17 Panthers · Trends 11
They haven't been right all season long. The defense has really let them down and Jake Delhomme is making too many mistakes.
18 Dolphins · Trends 17
The streak is over, and so, too, are their playoff chances. The preseason hype was way too much for this group.
19 Titans · Trends 24
I like the way they're playing. They won't be an easy mark for any team the final four weeks. Vince Young is growing up.
20 Vikings · Trends 18
It's time for a quarterback change. Brad Johnson can't get it done and this team isn't going anywhere.
21 Rams · Trends 19
When the Rams offense stinks it up, something isn't right. They're making way too many mistakes.
22 Steelers · Trends 23
Too bad they didn't have Tampa Bay on their schedule for 16 weeks. They actually looked like a playoff team. Of course, they're not.
23 49ers · Trends 21
Two consecutive road losses have the 49ers looking to next season. But they should be a playoff contender in 2007.
24 Bills · Trends 22
There are good signs for the future. Battling back from 17-0 down to make it close against a tough Chargers team is a good thing.
25 Browns · Trends 29
That was a heck of a comeback against Kansas City. What's more impressive is it came with a backup quarterback and it came after this team was destroyed by the Bengals a week ago.
26 Texans · Trends 27
Gary Kubiak has done a nice job. OK, so it's only the Raiders. But it was a road victory.
27 Cardinals · Trends 30
Winning like they did against the Rams is a good sign for the future. Too bad it's a future that will involve a new coach.
28 Packers · Trends 26
After a little run, they've come back to reality with two consecutive losses. This is a young team, so it's all about the next couple of seasons.
29 Buccaneers · Trends 28
Who could have imagined this team sinking this low? Not only that, it's old and it isn't settled at quarterback. It's going to be a trying offseason.
30 Redskins · Trends 25
This is the team that big money bought? Talk about getting ripped off. Dan Snyder should just throw his money in the Potomac. It will bring as many victories.
31 Raiders · Trends 31
As bad as they played, dropping them to the bottom spot would be easy were it not for the Lions. That was tough to watch.
32 Lions · Trends 32
They showed some fight in New England, which is a good thing. But the really good thing: They're still on pace for the first pick in the draft.

Bottom line, that's where we fall short.
