According to Barbara Walters/ABC, these are the 10 most fascinating people of 2006. I know that you're probably sitting, but I just want to make sure you are just in case...

Andre Agassi
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (count as one)
Joel Osteen
“Jay-Z,"
Steve and Terri Irwin (one)
Anna Wintour
Sacha Baron Cohen
John Ramsey
Patrick Dempsey and
1. Nancy Pelosi

So who is yours?

Bob Dole

Bob Dole is fascinated by a brunette he saw on campus yesterday.

Those humidifiers that don't use a heat source are still kind of fascinating, too.

I don't know... don't really care, but that interview with Terri Irwin was sad. :deevee:

Besides the Irwins it looks like the list should be named "The 10 most media-popularized people in the world"

I don't care if Brad & Angelina are getting married or if she gave birth in Watchamaghandia. I'm sick of them.

I think there should be a studio lot around Kansas City or the midwest...like Hollywood.

76 grams of sugar in a 20ounce bottle of Code Red Mountain Dew...

IN TWENTY OUNCES

Then you look at Quiktrip and see a shitload of people buying big gulps or 80 ounces or whatever size. Take 80 for example...80 times 4 = 320 grams of sugar.

crazy....pop makers are killing us slowly

I don't understand the Joel Osteen pic. He's so fake and has nothing all that real or helpful to say.

Professional jealousy?

One might see it as that, but really, from what I've heard and what I've read, he's sort of distorted the message to fit his audience and his own lifestyle. So I don't find him fascinating. Do you?

More like I'm gripped with amazement at the people who are gripped with amazement at the force that is Brangelina.

Who doesn't distort the "message"? That's why we have over 30,000 christian denominations in the U.S. alone. Dude's a good guy and lets people know that God isn't just waiting to zap you if you slip up.

I really wasn't intending that comment to be a precursor to a conversation about religion. I just don't think he's fascinating.

I'd like to read more about Joel Olsteen's views. Does he really believe God wants us to be rich? You just don't where to begin....

Joel Olsteen believes God wants him to be rich. Thus far God answers prayer.

"It's not a churchy feel," Osteen, 40, said. "We don't have crosses up there. We believe in all that, but I like to take the barriers down that have kept people from coming. A lot of people who come now are people that haven't been to church in 20 to 30 years."

When the Church's website is plastered with "Order Now!" "Donate!" "Purchase Here!" I'm going to be a bit supicious.

"He is unapologetic that he lives well in a $1 million house in an upscale neighborhood and that he is pouring the church's offerings into the Compaq Center these days, not into charities."

Fair enough. Actually, I did find his segment on Walter's show kind of fascinating. I found it fascinating that he has been able to grow a church to the size that he requires a large arena to hold everyone. I also found it fascinating that he did so without a personal theological history. The guy must be a dynamo and he must have some powerful charisma. I know nothing about his version of the message though so I'm not judging him on that count.

It cost nothing to see Jesus give his sermons. It costs $10 to see Joel Osteen.

Well, in that respect, I'm not so sure that it is him who is fascinating...but rather the people who flock to to his personality and charisma.
But hey, like someone (def. not you) so nicely and "respectfully" put it - this isn't "Jilly's top ten of fascinating people, but rather Barbara Walters."
