View Full Version : Lets kick the crap outta Oakland

Personally an Ass beating of the Raiders would make me feel a lot better considering that inn the back of my mind I allready knew we weren't going to the playoffs. Now that the P word is out of the way we can just enjoy the last two games and an Oakland beating would definitly be worth it. Im talking 49-3, not 21-10. Then lets take out Jacksonville and ruin their parade. Would that make the season at least somewhat salvaged for everyone else?

No.... I think it still stands. But you also need an offense that ranks near 2 on a scale of one to ten. Oakland's offense doesn't deserve a ranking of 1 on that scale.

Dats da troof. Even if we outplay you, you will win. Witness:

Raiders took a lead into the 4th quarter against Denver. Got 3 INTs & made 'em punt 7 times. Then lost by 4.

Next week, pathetic Raider offense outgained the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Took a lead into the 4th quarter & lost by 4.

Then went to DoltLand, made 'em punt 5 times, stopped 'em on 4th down, got an INT. Took a lead into the 4th quarter & lost by 7.

The difference is huge, IMO. We could've had Merriman instead of Derrick Johnson a couple years ago then. I'd rather have Merriman, he's more of a gamebreaker than DJ. DJ doesn't have "it" so far. Yes. But this is different. This is the pros. They look at the millions of dollars they have in their bank account the next day. It's not like it used to be, only a few players would object to tanking the last few games. Hell, James Hasty said the other day on ESPN that some players would have their stuff packed a few weeks earlier, even though they were still IN the hunt for a playoff spot when he played.

If you are hoping they lose so it will better their chances for next year because we will get a better draft pick you are missing the boat.

Losing the next 2 will help us more because it will create more of a need for change. 9-7 and just missing the playoffs will lead to a spin that under a new regime (HE) we were still that close. Just wait until next year when his system is more entrenched.

The next several years won't be good. Look at the Bengals when Mike Brown took over. They were horrible until they got a new stadium. Also until Brown learned how to run a club.

Hunt might not be so lucky. I don't see the new Arrowhead generating the revenue the new stadiums do. After the remodel KC is stuck with the new Arrowhead for 15+ years.

Either way though man, so far it seems Merriman is more of a playmaker. Am I the only one that thinks this?

No.......the difference in the 2 is like saying Derrick Thomas or Donnie Edwards. The LB that is a dominant pass rusher and gets sacks is more valuable than the Johnson/Edwards type of LB.

Hell at this point DeMarcus Ware is a more valuable player to a defense than a DJ is.

I mean really.
As fuggen dismal as our team looks, and plays, how can you savor the victory.
This is just a case of "Blood in the water, the sharks are on the way".

I can see how you would feel that way......

Hey now.... the Chiefs offense hasn't been too swift the last coupla of games either. They've only scored but one TD in the last two full games (and that at the end of the 4th quarter). Plus.... the Raiders took a lead into the 4th quarter last time we played them - at Arrowhead. Here's the plan.... our defense makes a coupla scores & we might just win!

Both teams want to beat their hated rival, and both would love the higher draft pick.

Heh. Sad really.

I am not happy with these kinds of results...nobody is.

But you have to have a little pride. You can't be a complete pussy when things get rough.

Thank you! I get so sick and tired of the defeatist attitude, and the "play to lose so we can win via draft picks" bit. What a bunch of malarkey. Especialy since many of the people who advocate that are the same people who say that CP can't draft well. So what is the point in trying to up the drafting position? Morons.

My team may be a bunch of 'tards, but they need to at the very least be a bunch of fighting 'tards. If they aren't even going to try than there is no reason for me to be a fan, let alone devote my time watching a game.
