Why did he become so good?

DT Robaire Smith becomes a free agent.
Anyone watch him ? He plays for the Titans I think.

I don't remember anyone really attacking Sands. He was a 7th round pick that got many people excited based on his upside potential. Clearly he was better than all the "turds" we drafted on the first day at DT.

Is he good? I kind of doubt it.

Sands wasn't even good enough to beat out Eric Downing in training camp. Either he's made significant improvements in his game or the Raiders Dline sucks worse than the 01-03 Chiefs, which is entirely possible

The 2 years Sands actually was able to play in TC and preseason, he was bette than Downing, atleast from what I remember. I dunno why they drafted Downing or why they ever kept him as long as they did. I can tell you this though. It doesn't surprise me with this team, considering it has been how many years since a SB appearance, how many for a playoff victory? Poor personnel decisions have to figure in their failure somewhere.

The Raiders like him. Read that from a raiders news article.

610am guys said he was good also. I didn't focus on him at all during the Chiefs game.

He was a below average O lineman here.

I've seen 5 or 6 Raider games this season. Sands would definitely start for the Chiefs.

You and me could probably play some DT for the Chiefs.....

I'm 6-0 and consider myself slightly overweight at 175. I'm not sure DT is my best position.

That's kind of what I remember, too. We were intrigued that he could be a monster who slid because he wasn't smart enough to get into college for a while.

And cdcox, perhaps you couldn't start, but I could find a spot for you in the rotation ahead of Ryan Sims.

Well if you combined our weights we could play some DT.....2 of us for 1 spot.

I am almost positive Sands was on the O line. He was out of football until the Faders converted him over.

You'd be wrong he was drafted as a DT.....

Now that is an interesting concept. Invent a new sport, like football except that there is no limit to the number of players that you can field, as long as the total is less 2600 lb.

He should do a radio show with Craphonso Thorpe.
