I'm 26......I'm single.......If I found out I was going to be a father being happy would probably not be one of the first reactions.

I think he will make one hell of a linebacker! He has some pretty muscular legs!

When the nurse gave him the vitamin K shot in his thigh the little guy opened his eys and looked right at her and didn't cry, whimper or flinch! He is already a tough guy!!!

Already have the Chiefs outfit for him to go home in. Should have him in my lap on Sat! Zachary is going to bring the Chiefs good fortune to tear through the playoffs!!

Congratulations Mike! For some people having kids makes their life complete and gives them meaning. Alot of us just haven't got to that point yet. I know I'm one of them, but to each his own. If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad.

I know if I had a kid right now I'd be a horrible father. I care too much about myself right now and I couldn't really sacrifice that for anything. That is just the stage of life I'm in right now. I'm sure when I'm 35-40 it will be different.

Yep I was where you are until I held my beautiful daughter. She saved me in every way. I am still wild as hell, but more of a Controlled Chaos. Yeah its still fun to tie one on-but that does not change my responsibilities waiting for me the next day. Still have to get up at 7 am and take the kids to the bus stop, work, pick them up from school, cook dinner, read, run them around to sports and stuff.

I wouldn't change things for the world though. :)

You know funny you say that; with our first child; my 4 y/o daughter I was wanting a son so bad, couldn't wait to get him into sports etc. I am so blessed that my daughter came first though. Made me a much better father. And I know it makes me sound sexist or something but since she was my little girl I let her grow and develop at her own pace and did not worry about when she walked, crawled, and everything else. Knowing how I am I would have been trying to force my 3 month old son to walk if he was born first. So I am grateful for having my little girl first!

Hey Mike, I feel badly for you. I hope I never experience what you've gone through. When you're ready I hope that you'll find forgiveness for the sitter. These things do happen whether it was neglect or something that was meant to be. I lost an uncle long before I was born to the very same thing. My brother was named after him. Hopefully somebody will honor Zachary in a similar manner in the future. Be well.

Mike, it is so sad that Zachary is gone. I know you miss him horribly. Remembering your happiness when he he was born is a good idea. It is terrible to lose him but perhaps there is solace in the fact that you did have him for those six months. Hang in there.

Hey Mike. I mean no insensitivity by this. Just hear me out. Zachary has left you with a great gift. It's the opportunity to give the love and time that you had reserved for him to your daughter and your wife. With that in mind, the sooner you let go of him the better for you and your family and the happier for him. I know it's much easier said than done. But Zack wants you to share your love bank with his sis and mom. I'm sure of that. So try, as hard as it is, to paddle your boat out of this current of grief. You still have a "gorgeous" daughter and a wife who needs you. A lot of men would envy what you already have.
