Palm Beach fining Trump over too-tall flag pole
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Donald Trump's flag dispute with Palm Beach, Florida, has escalated another notch.
Code enforcement officials voted to fine him over 12-hundred dollars a day until he removes the 15-by-25-foot flag from its 80-foot pole. It's on the estate of his lavish club.
Under Palm Beach ordinances, no flag pole can be taller than 42 feet. Trump was also cited for not getting a building permit or permission from the landmarks board.
Trump refuses to take down the flag, or pay the fines. He says displaying the flag is freedom of expression, and accuses Palm Beach of selectively enforcing ordinances.
A member of Palm Beach's Code Enforcement Board says Trump picked the fight.
