View Full Version : The BIG Super Bowl question....what are you eating?

Maybe you're staying home, maybe going to a party, might be going to a bar. Wherever you watch the game there's sure to be food involved.

Personally, I'm a traditionalist. For me wings and chili is to Super Bowl as turkey and stuffing is to Thanksgiving. I've got my chili done tonight and I'll get the wings done just before the game. I also have some tamales on hand, I'll make some New Mexico red chili sauce to pour over. Got plenty of beer, chips and salsa, guacamole, I think I'm all set.

How about you, what's on the menu? Are you making it or buying it? Going traditional or are you more sophisticated than that?

Fried mushrooms with horseradish sauce and pot stickers. I was trying to think of a third dish, but since its just me, my wife and daughter, two will be enough.

Going to start around 11:00 with bloody marys and poker, so food will become very important after a few hours!

Maybe pizza, probably nachos.

I'll make a big lunch of pork cutlets and mashed potatoes, etc. And I made two pies tonight.

I don't eat it. The wife and I were at a party a couple of years ago, and someone had it, and the wife fell in love with it.

You just put the stick of cream cheese on a plate, and pour the jelly over it, and dip into it with crackers. Everyone I know who has ever tried it has raved about it.

One of my gfs, her husband, a friend and I throw a party every year over her place with the huge screen tv. Kids will come and runaround.

I just finished a carrot cake, shaped like a football field with yardlines, two ends zones (one blue one orange), pretzel goal posts, 2 choc & white Hershey Hugs for refs, and orange football candy in the middle and blue/white oval almond candies for Colts and blue/orange ones lined up for Bears. yes! I had to paint those wedding candies with food coloring!

Buffalo-wings, ribs, sandwiches, chips, dips, beer, and champagne (for the one Colt's fan who will be there)...coffee,...the usual stuff.

Are they beans with pork or pork with beans. Either way, sounds damn good. If you got rib drippings, where did the ribs go?

The ribs have been consumed.

I don't know what these beans are called. I really need a name for them because I make them all the time.

They're Fathead's Spicy Beans.

Don't ribs get grilled, and if so, don't the drippings drop into coals?
You get the drippings from there?

As usual they sound great btw!

Offset firebox on a smoker. I put the pan below the ribs and the coals are in the firebox.
