Man I wish the Colts O would not have floundered in the red zone, that way the NFC would have known for certain that they are still second class the past few seasons...

Yeah, the Bears D was uncharacteristically giving up big plays and not getting enough pressure on Manning. The Bears O is weak and if the defense doesn't play up to its usual high standard, they have virtually no chance of winning. Kind of like the team Herm is trying to build here.

I know you said this tongue in cheek. You know the game was not as close as the score. The Bears were dominated. Even when they were winning, they weren't in it.

Yes, and hte Bears still won the NFC.

The NFC is the junior varsity these days. It's the 80s in reverse.

Peter King had it right in his last power rankings after the Championship round:

1. Colts
2. Pats
3. Chargers
4. Ravens
5. Bears

You might be able to quibble with Ravens/Bears as 4-5, and some might flip-flop Pats/Chargers, I understand. But the point remains, at least 3, and probably 4, of the AFC teams are better than anything the NFC's got.
