The changes on the Broncos' coaching staff might not be complete. Assistant strength and conditioning coach Cedric Smith interviewed for the head strength and conditioning position with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday and could be given the job this week.

Smith has been an assistant to Broncos head strength and conditioning coach Rich Tuten since 2001. Smith was an NFL fullback from 1990-98. He interviewed in Miami last week.

If the Broncos add to their football staff, one name to watch might be Oklahoma State associate head coach Joe DeForest.

There has been speculation in Stillwater, Okla., that DeForest might leave the Big 12 school. He has several ties to the Broncos and interviewed for an assistant coaching job in 2004.

DeForest, who coaches the Cowboys' special teams and secondary, spoke at the funeral of Denver cornerback Darrent Williams last month. Williams developed into a star cornerback and return man under DeForest.

What happened to Billy Long? DAMNIT CARL! :cuss:

I assume he got canned. That's sucks, because he was a really nice guy. He used to come out and tailgate with us sometimes after games, until he stopped drinking. "Gotta go to work!"

He was a DV guy, though, so it's not that big of a surprise.
