A horrible killer fungus from Africa is infecting and wiping out millions of frogs from a variety of species all over the world, causing extinctions in the last decade. Panicked scientists want $500 million to gather up and quarantine hundreds of frogs from each species in zoos around the world to buy them enough time to figure out a frog fungus cure to stop it.

Hmm... I like to make fun of environmentalists as much as the next guy, but if this is really as serious as the story portrays, I wouldnt mind spending some money to keep all the frogs from dying out.

Good. Frogs have no place in this world or in the United States.

Not good for frogs, or us, for that matter.

I'm going on record as being frogfungifobic.

I like frogs and all, but $500 million sounds a little steep.

Pocket change compared to the cost of replacing the entire wheel of life, Mr. Bugeater.

That's currently priced at over 2 gazillion.

I say let mother nature run its course. Those bastards deserve to die for being elitest airbags, constantly urinating in the streets, and in general being members of the most disgraceful ethnic origin in the history of the world.

Oh wait, we're talking amphibians. Yeah, keep those guys around.

Speaking of animals . Has anyone else seen the news about all the bees that are just disappearing ? According to the news it's happening all over the USA. Bee keepers say that entire hives of bees are just disappearing, not dieing, just disappearing. They have no clue whats causing it. This could be devastating if it continues.

Unless the fungus is man-made, we shouldn't intervene. Let nature take it's course.

The group estimates it will cost between $400 million and $500 million to complete the project. It is launching a fundraising campaign next year to create an endowment.

It's such a critical problem, we need to wait until next year to start the capital campaign.

Makes perfect sense.

It's gonna be a bitch to catch and vaccinate all the frogs in the world even if they find a cure!

Is that why the 16 ounce bottle of honey Bob Dole picked up in the store the other day rang up at $6.49?

I agree. I say we divert the $500Mil and build a fence to keep them out. Either that or create an army of 10 yeal old boys armed with ladyfingers.
