Any injuries? If they both have their full complement of players I'd go with A&M. Although Durant could explode at any time.

It should be a great one. Being a Hawks fan I guess it is in my best interest for TX to win.

CoMoChief
02-28-2007, 01:58 PM
Is it in Austin or College Station? If it's at Austin I see TX winning, however if it's in College Station A&M will win.

I hope Texas wins regardless. KU would be solely in 1st place in the conference and would win it outright with a win against Texas. It would help KU's RPI if Texas won tonite also if KU won on Saturday.

Go Horns.

In Austin I believe...

noa
02-28-2007, 02:11 PM
I'm looking forward to this game. Should be a good one. I think A&M has the edge even though they are playing in Austin. A&M has the more experienced team and that's going to help in a high profile matchup like this one. Even though Texas has the best player in Durant, A&M isn't far behind with Acie Law.

Gotta root for the Horns even though I think A&M is the better team. It'd be nice to start celebrating at least a co-championship this evening.

This is dynamite offense right now. 11-10 A&M off a tip-in.

Still 16:10 left in the first.

Direckshun
02-28-2007, 08:22 PM
11:03 left in the first half, the game hasn't slowed down one bit, and the atmosphere is electric.

Both teams are missing shots and committing turnovers, though.

A&M's ball after the time-out, leading 19-16.

I wonder if OSU would have suspended Bogan if they weren't playing Baylor on Saturday. Does it even count as a one game suspension if its against the Bears?

Lzen
02-28-2007, 08:34 PM
I'm pulling for the Longhorns. However, A&M is very good team. It's gonna be tough for Texas to pull this one out, despite the fact that they're at home.

Direckshun
02-28-2007, 08:40 PM
A&M slaughtering Texas on the boards and in the paint. But Texas is shooting the lights out.

This is my first full game watching Durant and that kid is phenomenal.

A&M's got a couple foul shots on the way with 5:09 left to go. Texas winning 29-28.

CoMoChief
02-28-2007, 08:49 PM
Carmelo or Durant

Whos the better Frosh?

chiefsfan987
02-28-2007, 08:53 PM
Texas with a 7 point halftime lead. Sweet!

Direckshun
02-28-2007, 08:53 PM
Well how about that, turns out that rebounding makes you play better!

As the half closes down, Texas finds a way to hold their own on the boards. A&M doesn't get as many second chances, and Texas continues scoring.

Halftime: 43-36, Texas.

Lzen
02-28-2007, 08:58 PM
Carmelo or Durant

Whos the better Frosh?

Unless Durant wins a title, the argument will always be made that Melo is better because he got a ring. Still, I think Durant is better. That kid is incredible.

Lzen
02-28-2007, 09:01 PM
Wow, it was tied at 31 when I went away for a little while. I come back and Texas is ahead 7 at the half. C'mon Longhorns, put them away in the 2nd half.

HemiEd
02-28-2007, 09:16 PM
Is this Durant the best College BB player ever?

Direckshun
02-28-2007, 09:21 PM
Well A&M is inching their way back into the game, but at this point Texas is shooting over 50% from the field.

And this is without a major inside presense. A&M still controls the paint, still beats Texas on the boards, but it's not as one-sided now.

Texas still has the ability to put them away, but A&M's not going down easy.

Two free throws coming for A&M with 15:36 to go. Texas up, 50-43.

chiefsfan987
02-28-2007, 09:23 PM
Texas is puttering out.

chiefsfan987
02-28-2007, 09:24 PM
I think Durant is forcing it inside too much. There's nothing there and he keeps forcing it.

Lzen
02-28-2007, 09:28 PM
Is this Durant the best College BB player ever?

Best freshman ever, for sure.

chiefsfan987
02-28-2007, 09:29 PM
A&M is on fire.

Direckshun
02-28-2007, 09:29 PM
Just like that, and Texas has turned into a pumpkin.

Can't hit shots. Can't hit free throws. Still getting owned on the boards. And A&M's Carter and Law are on fire.

57-55, A&M. 11:21 left.

chiefsfan987
02-28-2007, 09:34 PM
Texas is going to have to start hitting mid-range jump shots or from the perimeter because there is nothing inside. A&M's defense in the paint is tough.

Lzen
02-28-2007, 09:56 PM
73-72 Texas with 1:20 to go.

Haven't read the whole thread, but watched the game. What a classic. Acie Law is flat out ridiculous. So savvy. The quick free throw was genious. KU is going to have their hands full with Texas. They're playing much better now that they're not completely dependent on Durant. There's three teams in the Big 12 that could do some damage in the tourney.

I understand that. But our freshmen this year are not starters. They don't have the same pressure on them like Chalmers, Wright, and Rush had last year. That is a lot of pressure for first year players to be starting. It is a different situation. I do realize they are still a young team, but I like this year's situation much better.

You really don't like Brandon Rush..he'll get on the second team. I'm hoping Mario at least gets on the third team this year. He got screwed last year.

I love Brandon, but KU distributes its scoring so much, it's hard to put two guys on the first two teams. Where Rush has tailed off lately, Julian has picked up some major slack, plus he had the huge game at Mizzou. That's why he gets the nod.

KU has 5 players averaging more than 10 points per game. No stars as is evidenced by these polls. With KU, you have to pick your poison. All of them can kill you.

he will, but Law deserves some kind of special award for Biggest Cajones....

I'm glad UT is playing well and ranked high, KU needs a real test...can't wait for the game

I'm not saying how it will be, I'm saying how I'm voting. Either way, I'm not sure that's the case. I can see Law winning Big 12 POY, and Durant winning National POY.
