Jeff Foxworthy has been willing to make a fool of himself on stage for years. Why are you just now wondering?

If these 5th graders have achieved a higher level of education than you, you might be a Redneck.

This show is like the anti-Jeopardy.

That depends. What's their IQ?

Honestly, I doubt that I could score a 50/50 on the state capital quiz now, but a lot of 5th graders could. Isn't this show basing this off of trivia like that?

What star is closest to the earth? (she got this, barely)

What country shares the longest border with the U.S.? (she missed this one)

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if she said something really stupid, like California.

Kinda reminds me of some of the people they get on the Tonight Show when they do Jaywalking. It's amazing how stupid some people are.

That premise used was for the show "Street Smarts", and like you, I was amazed at how many actual dumbasses there are out there.

My wife is one of the smartest women I know but she's geographically disabled. I asked her the "which country shares the longest border with the US" question and she googled it. I mean, you got a 50/50 chance lady. Jeez.

I know that the world is full of dumbasses, but they did an entire episode consisting of one question.

"How many states are there in the United States?"

How the **** can you not know how many states there are in the U.S.?

I was laughing at the lady who didn't know Canada was the answer to the border question. Seriously, how can you say Mexico? Canada takes up the entire north dumbass.
And which star is closest to earth? How could you struggle with that?
I also though the trapezoid question was relatively easy. How can you not know what a trapezoid is?

I'm a bit disappointed in the premise of the show. In the end credits, it says in fine print something about how all the "students" are given workbooks that contain the answers to the questions in the show. I'm sure they have to study it, but it's not like they're just relying on their past knowledge.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Fox may have found a family-friendly hit to accompany "American Idol" after its new game "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" debuted to record numbers on Tuesday.
The show was seen by 26.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched series debut in Fox network history and the most popular debut of any series since 1998, according to Nielsen Media Research.
It's an almost irresistible television concept: quizzing adults on knowledge found in elementary-school textbooks, with real-life fifth graders standing by to offer help and serve up embarrassment.
The game's first contestant on Tuesday stumbled when asked what month Columbus Day is observed. The schoolkids knew the answer: October.

It couldn't have hurt that they premiered it after American Idol.
