If he's there I don't think we can pass on the guy.
It seemed like so many times last year, Allen and Hali would wear down late in the game because we did not have a good 3rd end to rotate in. Jarvis Moss is an impact pass rusher. He can start during Jared's suspension, and be a fantastic 3rd down specialist if Allen and Hali remain healthy after that. The team can even experiment with Hali rushing from the inside on 3rd down.
Remember Herm drafted Bryan Thomas in the 1st in NY when he already had John Abraham and Shaun Ellis. He understands the need of having pass rush in waves, and having fresh rushers throughout the game.
Not to mention the fact that drafting Moss gives the Chiefs leverage in the Allen negotiations, and flexibility in terms of dealing with a potentially disgruntled Allen with a franchise tag on him next year. Obviously, this also protects the Chiefs if Jared has another substance abuse issue (although I do trust and believe that Jared will not be so stupid as to risk another offense).
If there was a legitimate stud defensive tackle available in the 20's in the draft, I wouldn't recommend this. But I don't think there are any good value DT's that will be there.
