Although the Falcons didn't strike big in terms of name value, they struck quick and for two players who were released, they struck hard.

Atlanta opened the free-agent period Friday by signing bruising fourth-year fullback Ovie Mughelli to a six-year, $18 million contract with a $5 million signing bonus, according to Atlanta-based agent, Todd France.

The contract is among the highest ever for an NFL fullback.

doesn't matter when it came out, laz--the fact that someone threw 18 million at a fullback is the sad part

They're the same ones that threw 130 million at a running back though.
