We can't do it in the draft, IMO, I mean, if we want to be good. We have to at least get one in FA since our two starters are gone.

So what's gonna happen?

Ian Scott please

I don't know, but IMO, all these players we're signing won't make near as much of an impact on the defense as possible if we keep the current DT's we have. Plus, considering the fact that our two starters are free agents, the situation is not very good.

BTW, anyone know if there will be any DT's left that can start for us by the time we are up to draft?

And, who are the best free agent DT's left?

I second the notion on Ian Scott. I also propose that we give Ryan Sims poisonous donuts.

We should run a 3-4 with Scanlon at the nose.

We should run a 3-4 with Scanlon at the nose.

That won't work because Scanlon is penciled in at starting QB.

Hell, we're gonna run a 2-5 after Allen comes back from his suspension.

1-6 till then.

if we can somehow get ahold of okoye or carriker they are both probably good enough to step in and start, if not then i think ian scott would be a good pickup

I'm holding out hope that we get a guy in the 3rd or 4th, ala Jared Allen, that makes some kind of impact

Do we carry 4 DE's and 4 DT's?

Last Year....

Tamba
Allen
Wilkerson
Hicks

Reed
Edwards
Sims
Wilkerson

As of right now:

Tamba
Allen minus the first 4 games
Hicks... ROFL

Sims

This isn't looking so good

DT's are hard to come by in Free Agency. I think we need to resign Wilkerson and then hope for the best in the draft.

I am still not sold on picking up a WR in the 1st, I would rather invest in the OL or DL depending on who is on the board.

Chiefs defensive tackle James Reed, an unrestricted free agent, met Wednesday in Houston with the Texans. The Chiefs are trying to re-sign Reed, a starter last season.

The Chiefs had no visits scheduled for the rest of the week. Cleveland defensive tackle Alvin McKinley is scheduled to visit on Tuesday.

Herm can whip Ryan Sims into shape!

And Carl Peterson will win us a Super Bowl and there was nothing dysfunctional about Gunther Cunningham coming back and we still have a shot at the playoffs with no offensive line and no defensive line and that buy your groceries online stock I bought back in 1999 is still going to skyrocket.

Honey, cut me up another line of Prozac will ya.

He should be a 3rd or 4th string DE. He is not even the quality of a backup NFL DE. I can't wait for the day that they cut his sorry arse.

Sapp would atleast be a nice plugin for a year or two, we just need decent bodies at the DL honestly and there isn't much out there. What about Robaire Smith?

i can't recall the last time i've seen a time go into an offseason with ZERO starting defensive tackles on their roster.

Ryan Sims and Brian Howard are the only DT's we have under contract.

and there is a good chance imo that Sims get cut ... well there is if we ever sign somebody else.

It's a little disconcerting that we don't even have warm bodies to fill the roster spots.

On the other had, it's quite exciting that we don't have the EXISTING warm bodies filling those roster spots.

Ian Scott would be a nice pickup.... Warren Sapp had a good year last year, good choice for 1 or 2 years but we need to draft someone!!!!!!!!! Not some guy from Cleveland....They must have been impressed from the victory against us.

Ian Scott my first choice.

Warren Sapp despite being a Faider/Bucc still has something in the tank. Could motivate lead by example.
